As Trump is publicly and openly trying to steal our democracy by the disenfranchisement of millions of black and brown voters, the silence from the republican party is deafening. I guess this is what happens when you take a nation founded on racism, fill it with the most ignorant and misinformed/uniformed electorate in the developed world, and then give them all a cell phone and a Facebook & Twitter account..

I think it's ridiculous that these poor health care workers who are risking their lives everyday and caring for sick COVID patients have to also try and plead with American's to follow the basic precautions of wearing a mask and socially distancing. And then some people have the nerve to criticize these health care workers, call them liars and some health care professionals are even being threatened just because they are trying to do their damn job.

So much selfishness and entitlement being seen. I've heard a couple stories of people spitting or purposely coughing on other people over mask disputes. Seriously?

It turned out to be an impossible task to complete without writing a response that would span several volumes.

So @Bucknut what was the discussion you had with your kids? This is not an opportunity to be snarky and take potshots. This is your chance to answer a straight up direct question.

Totally different situation with similarities. over 20,000 lies which are continuing to this day. Look at the lies being told by the Brownshirt lawyers in public about the election then, when they are in a courtroom their story changes. Lies built on lies.

I am truly trying to understand the parental discussions that are going on.
 
I had to have this talk with my new puppy Otto... it went something like this-

No Otto, its not ok to do everything in your power to destroy American democracy.

The discussions I have had include the words: coup, traitors, brainwashed, cult, legal vs illegal orders, constitution, dictator. Followed by a healthy discussion of how successful countries all have a culture of tolerance for other peoples beliefs. My kids are in their 20's. If they were 6, I'd tell them the same thing.
