Fu*%face Von Clownstick

Until he's incarcerated he will be making annoying noise. He's been a con and carny for too long to go quiet. If he does get pardoned for his Federal crimes he will be facing state charges and business issues with loans coming due. One way out is to start up some sort of media company to voicebox his issues. There's no doubt that there are people with money that will keep giving him support.

Who said, 'There are only two things for sure in life, death and taxes'??? Which might quiet him???

My take is he fades as a serious politician. Loud mouth baffoonery will continue. He stands for nothing and I doubt that the majority of the GOP get behind him again after all the shit they have eaten in the last 4 years. I suspect Republicans for the most part are exhausted.

Maybe he will catch the virus again. They say immunity wears off and the second round of it is worse.
They jacked him up with every experimental drug available.
He was given Antibodies.
The positive side: Faster recovery time.
Negative side: Your immune system doesn't develop it's own antibodies or enough of them.
Wich means you're more susceptible to re-infection then people who have recovered without them.

Once he looses access to those drugs and antibodies he'll be ripe for the picking.

Incarcerated won't shut him up, he needs to be incinerated to assure serenity. ;)

He's already planted the seeds of his ideology. The damage is done.

Hitler offed himself 80 years ago because his ideas were so damaging half the world decided a war had to be fought to stop him and yet we still see nazis flying flags and organizing. I'm glad he's out of the White House but I know he won't be forgotten. GOP leadership will operate on the "in for a penny in for a pound" mindset.

They already warned us about him. Then he won too many supporters to ignore. Then they were forced to fall in line. They will not reverse their dialogue again.

I hope to god I'm wrong. But nothing that's happening is a fluke. He his the anti lib and they love him for that. His kids will run eventually and his legacy will fester on.

It's astonishing how many Americans have fallen for this cult of personality.
You would think after Hitler it could never happen again but we are watching it in real time.
If you ever wondered how Hitler ever came to power now you know.
BTW, he was a registered and voting Democrat prior or so he has said in the past.

Really, the problem is not Trump alone at all. There are fundamental flaws in our education system and our culture in general that make us vulnerable to a Trump. A huge portion of our population is relatively uneducated and also remains bigoted and prejudiced to an inexcusable degree. Trump merely exploits those failings and makes these people feel OK about being that way, even proud of it. The parallels to Hitler are quite apt. Trump would be just as deadly if given the chance. He approaches that level of malice and disregard for human life with his lack of leadership in the pandemic. So many of those many thousands of deaths could have been avoided if he cared at all about something besides himself and playing to his loyal base. And the economy, which is supposedly his and his base's main concern, would have been back in much better shape by now in all probability. No way the economy can remain viable with our hospitals overloaded, their costs skyrocketing, and that many Americans sick, out of work, and otherwise incapacitated, with their spending at a standstill. Maybe a turnaround can begin under Biden's experienced leadership. Even if he accomplishes little against a GOP Senate stonewalling him, at least we will have some stability and sanity in the White House and less controversial crap from there hitting us every time we wake up and check the news. And Biden is not divisive at all or insecure to the point of being revenge driven the way Trump is.

I am with Phil here. I fear that we are not done with Trump or his evil offspring. And the 70 million Americans that just voter for the insane conman? We need no further proof that we are still an extremely fucked up, racist nation that has progressed very little in the last 250 yrs.....

Yup, only difference is that Trump has made it popular for all these closet haters to come out and explose the uglyness in their hearts.

The only thing that would slow the trump family down is a loss of money. If they loose their assets, they loose their power. Trump has near a billion in loans coming due in the next 5 years. I don't know enough about large scale financing to know what his options are for handling that.

I am not looking to get into an argument here Bucky, but I am genuinely interested in hearing your thoughts on the legitimacy of Biden's apparent victory. Do you believe it was rigged, that there was massive/widespread voter fraud, or did Biden just get more votes in the right places? There are not many conservative leaning dudes around here and I do believe that you truly believe that a conservative path is the best path for America going forward, so I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts (for realz) on the 2020 election.

I do believe there is widespread voter fraud, though I suspect it is not “massive” or highly coordinated. I think Election Day should be just that. One day. Mail in voting (with the exception of absentee) is undeniably an invitation to fraud. The easier it is to vote, the easier it is to cheat. Simple as that.

I don’t believe fraud put Biden over the top.

Trumps lawsuits will fail and he will eventually go away, but I doubt he will observe the tradition of former presidents keeping a low profile. He has mostly himself to blame for his loss, but he had four years of help from a depressingly partisan media.

Expect to hear the word “obstruction” a lot more if the Repubs hold the Senate.

I’m finding myself experiencing something quite unexpected after the election: total apathy. I just don’t give a shit anymore. There are two Americas. Two totally disconnected world views. There can be no more compromise, and there won’t be, because neither side believes the other is working in the best interests of the country. As I’ve said before, where is the compromise between food and poison?

I’ve got more pressing matters to attend to. Like stacking firewood. It’s chilly.

In regards to mail in voting, or even voting in person for that matter...both are an archaic form of data collection. I can apply, and get approved for a $10,000 credit card online or via phone call. Astronauts can vote from space. I can take a picture of a paper check, and deposit it in my bank account with my phone. We can easily revamp the voting system to make it 100% accessable and user friendly. Don't have a computer or smart phone? We keep in person voting the same way we currently do. Don't have a car to get there? We'll provide bus/shuttle service. Can't leave your house? We'll have a gov employee (just like we do for the census taking) show up at your house with a tablet or a paper ballot if you prefer where you can vote in the privacy of your home. We can relatively easily do this. Why we don't is troublesome. Every citizen should have a one stop shop government account (local, state, and fed combined) that they can access via an online portal. Log in, you can see your tax returns, social security, drivers license info, any government programs you're currently part of (unemployment, welfare etc). I can do that with every utility company I get service from. Universities do that for their thousands of students. Every bank on the planet has this. My health insurance provider has a portal. I needed a work release letter after a quarantine and my doc uploaded it to my portal. I log in, print it or download it and I'm done. Safe, secure, HIPAA compliant. Voting should absolutely be the easiest thing (read accessable) to accomplish. I don't care if you're bedridden. You should be able to vote without jumping through hoops.

Believing something is true is different than having proof that something is true. There is zero evidence that mail in voting has experienced anything close to a large number of fraudulent attempts. If you can produce evidence of a couple dozen instances of mail in voter fraud I'd be shocked. I'd be more worried about electronic systems being tampered/hacked as the reward for that is much larger numbers and the vast majority of people have no idea how those systems operate.

What has happened in this election is fear mongering with zero proof. In a small way it was good though because the microscope of scrutiny has been focused on voter fraud. Which should be the case anyways. But now we know exactly how little fraud has taken place.

There can be no more compromise, and there won’t be, because neither side believes the other is working in the best interests of the country.

This is unfortunately way too true. I do not believe we will be able to correct this in our country. We have been going through an anti renaissance of sorts. We are becoming the opposite of enlightened and our ignorance of the masses is fueled in large part by a total failure of our education system. Our country is getting dumber by the generation and it's awful.

I have to agree with Phil on so-called voter fraud. Trump has been screaming about rigged elections and voter fraud since 2015, but his lies have been nothing more than a disinformation campaign designed to divide us. Despite the lack of any credible evidence, it seems that he has accomplished his mission....

I also agree with Buck concerning compromise in the future...Sadly there will be none, and it will be folks like us and our families that suffer the consequences. It is clear that America is just another failing empire, and the only question is how long it will take our infighting to bring us to rock bottom..

Finally there’s an awakening about the lack of compromise? What about the pile of laws that mcConnel has blocked fir the past four years? No reason given for blocking.

Believing in any sort of fraud goes along with flat earth and unicorn beliefs There’s never been enough fraud to ever mean anything. To understand this a person needs a tiny understanding of statistics and percentages. If there’s fraud at the top of the ballot there’s going to be fraud down ballot too...including Mitch and Lyndsey.

Mail-in ballots are a necessity for now, until the system is modernized into the digital age. Many thousands of Americans live overseas or are serving in the military outside the country. In many remote areas even within the country, it is a serious hardship or impossibility to get to a voting station in person in time. And now the pandemic added a further issue. Many states have used mail-in ballots for many years now, with very few glitches. I have voted by mail in every national and state election now for decades here in WA. It is no more vulnerable to fraud than in-person voting machines and their software. There have been instances in the past where the machines have been tampered with at local level. With this election under such fierce scrutiny while it was ongoing, it is likely that it was actually far more secure than usual. Just as with our IRS 1040 being legal if postmarked by 15 April, despite the IRS not receiving it that day, mail-in ballots postmarked by the end of the workday on election day have always been legal ballots and have always been counted for a number of days after that to give the PO time to deliver them. What is extremely unfair is that this time delay varies from state to state and is subject to post office delays and inefficiency. We have just seen Trump exploit this and put a loyalist in charge of the PO right before the election, and that man immediately made changes which slowed down mail delivery, blatant election interference and basically fraud by anyone's definition, since Trump was encouraging his supporters to disregard concerns about the pandemic and vote in person. (Of course Trump is a master of employing tactics he criticises in his opponents, just as he claimed a landslide victory in 2016 with much less of a margin than Biden just got). He started alleging fraud way before the election even started purely because he knew Democrats were more likely to take the pandemic precautions more seriously and vote by mail. There has never been any serious issue of intentional fraud in past elections over mail-in voting. The Electoral College is a feature of our elections which is a far bigger problem as to fairness. One electoral vote is worth over 700,000 of one state's votes, whereas in another state, one of their electoral votes may be worth less than 100,000 of its citizen's votes. It creates a vast difference in what each American's vote is worth nationally, and as we have seen more than once now, it can throw an election to a candidate that actually is not the one chosen by the majority of American voters, a situation that flies in the face of democratic principle. And it is a system that allows redistricting by whichever party is in power at a local level to disenfranchise groups of voters. Ironically, we actually have much less of a direct democracy than Great Britain now, the country the US rebelled against to have more of a democratic government. The US rebelled against a despot and several centuries later we have made little progress away from that vulnerability to despotic rule.

There is one consideration that shows more than anything to me how Trump really thinks, and which puts the lie to his claims of massive fraud hindering his re-election. In the real World, voting fraud would happen from both directions. But in TrumpWorld, only Democrats would ever commit election fraud. Democrats are the enemy, the bad guys. To Trump, fraud in his favour is not fraud at all, it is a form of patriotism. His supporters are obviously pure as the driven snow and can do no wrong as long as it benefits him. We saw that with the riots and violence. As long as it was his pro-Trump crowd massing, brandishing assault rifles to intimidate, clashing with the Left, it was fine with him. He even encouraged it with his tweets about 'liberating Michigan', etc. and his failure to condemn extremist militia groups. The only time he wanted to call in the military to squash protests was if it was a Liberal protest. He screams about Liberal violence but a pro-Trump protester can kill several people at a confrontation and Trump says nothing. He has a completely one-sided view of the country and through his policies and lies in four years, he has created and encouraged incredible division within the nation. With no credible evidence to support his claims, he is seriously undermining public confidence right now in our election process in order to cling to power, which to my mind is in itself a very serious form of election fraud. He is thoroughly un-American. He has no respect at all for the true will of the people or for our democratic institutions. You need look no further than his recent attempts to have local GOP leaders in swing states replace their electoral college delegates with Trump loyalists who would vote contrary to their state's population. What is this but despotism and potential dictatorship? Trump lost the election, was 'fired', pure and simple, because he did a lousy job as president in the minds of huge numbers of swing voters who voted for him in 2016 and decided not to a second time. Millions and millions of swing voters who saw that he completely failed the country, chiefly with his bungling of the pandemic, his failure to grasp the basic truth that the economy and the health and safety of the public both depended entirely on focusing on defeating the virus instead of ignoring and downplaying it. And also his lack of any intention to unify the country against real foreign concerns, his bungling of relations with our closest allies and his arse-kissing of Putin. Millions and millions of swing voters who were not as stupid, blind, and easily conned as he had hoped. We may never get a completely honest politician in these high offices; it takes too many millions of dollars to run a campaign and there are too many powerful lobbies in Washington ready to spend unlimited amounts of money to buy political influence. But Trump represents a new low. His constant daily barrage of lies and criminal mismanagement was unprecedented.

The numbers weren’t too far off though in the states that it all hinged on.

Even with the constant delusional tweets and promotion of violence and separation, I can’t help but wonder if he would’ve gotten a 2nd term if he hadn’t botched the pandemic response.
