Chicago is NOT the #1. Per capita city for gun deaths in the USA
I’m sure that’s true, but per capita doesn’t necessarily tell the whole story. In a Montana town of 50 people one gun death might make it the per capita shooting leader. That certainly doesn’t mean it’s a more dangerous place to live than the south side of Chicago.

Maybe much stricter domestic relations law? Dramatically lower the bar to lose custody, at least temporarily? Chronic truancy, domestic violence, and drug use are common denominators in the homes of most of these shooters.

I doubt most of the “mothers” would even care.
So instead of intelligent and effective gun laws/gun control we should make being poor, living without hope of a future, and living in a ghetto more illegal than it already is?

We should impose actual consequences on delinquent/negligent parents. If they can’t or won’t raise children in a way that at least gives them a chance to contribute to society and remain out of prison, can you really argue that the kids wouldn’t be better off with someone else?

Update me on how your “intelligent and effective gun laws/gun control” works out in Chicago on Tuesday. We should have numbers for the holiday weekend by then. I bet it’s 40 plus.

Wait... if we innoculate the residents of Chicago for a deadly disease, but not the people going in and out of Chicago every day... then, if people die in Chicago of the disease, we have proof that vaccines don't work?

The logic in this mystifies me.

Gotcha. You want to impose Chicago’s laws on the whole nation. Super.

And you still think criminals (who, by definition, don’t give a shit about your laws)...... will obey your laws.

The logic in that mystifies me.

Gun control? There are well over 300 million guns in America. To suggest that we currently have any gun control in this country is laughable at best. .

Not for lack of effort.

It’s actually very simple. Not easy, but simple: repeal the Second Amendment. That’s how you get rid of guns without starting a revolution. Because to do that, you have to achieve consensus first. Convince enough of your fellow citizens that your side is right, and they just might follow you willingly. The way it was intended.

You’re better than this.

He’s a good man. Eminently, if not perfectly qualified.

Remember the good old days when temperament and qualifications mattered more than politics? Like when RBG was unanimously approved by the senate?

Thanks Ted Kennedy. This is the charade we have to engage in now. Which is why McConnell did what he did two years ago. Stupid games.

He started all this crap when he “borked” judge Robert Bork, a Reagan nominee. Until that point, it was generally understood and agreed upon that Presidents get to pick Supreme Court justices, and as long as they were qualified they sailed thru the senate on a bipartisan basis almost as a formality.

I'm confused. Does the fact that Cavanaugh was clearly less than truthful (lied) when he testified during his last hearings make him eminently qualified?
Maybe its because what he says in public and what he says privately tell 2 very different stories makes him the best nominee in history?
The possibility that he assaulted a young woman seems to warrant a pause while the FBI has a serious look into the matter? No?
Cavanaugh's own history shows that he is the very definition of a political hack, and someone unworthy of a lifelong seat on our Supreme Court.

There is likewise a possibility that you assaulted a young woman in high school Rico. Because I say so.

See how easy accusations are?

This is the dirtiest of dirty pool, the lowest of low tricks by Democrats. But I put nothing past them. I expect more drama before he is confirmed.
Probably from Cory “Spartacus” Booker. Got to stir up the base if you’re going to run for Prez....

Accusations deserve investigation when your are dealing with a Supreme Court nominee? No? We know nothing about the accuser. Are there corroborating witnesses? What are her political views?

Low-life tricks like not allowing a President to exercise his constitutional right to have his nominee even considered by congress. Now that is some chickenshit shit!

There will no doubt be more "drama" because Cavanaugh is a deeply flawed nominee for the highest court in the land. His testimony under oath, writings, and emails have shown him to be less than honest, slightly racist, and a general tool. Clearly the Repubs can find a better man than this?

She passed a lie detector test administered by an former FBI agent.
She told her husband and therapist about this years ago.
She is willing to testify under oath.
So much for bullshit accusations.
Trump the admitted sexual assaulter nominating one of his kind to the Supreme Court.
Cavanaugh should never be allowed to sit on our Supreme Court. Ever.
Me too, motherfuckers!

There’s a reason lie detectors are used on The Maury Povich Show and not in courts of law.

She’s recently scrubbed her online presence to rid it of any leftist posts. Must have taken a while.

Her attorney is a well known liberal hack. Interestingly, she didn’t think Al Franken should have been forced out of the Senate, nor did she believe Paula Jones when she accused Bill Clinton. Super selective with her outrage apparently.

The only other person there denies it ever happened. She can’t recall what year it was, much less what day or location. So tell me: how can Kavanaugh prove his innocence? He can’t. By design.

What a sad spectacle this has become. What revolting human beings who would dive this deep in the gutter to smear a good man. But I’m no longer surprised.

New flash Bucky. The days of attacking the accusers are over. The "she's either a slut or a nut" routine aint cutting it any longer. These woman will be heard.
Seeing as law enforcement commonly uses lie detectors as an investigation tool, maybe Cavanaugh should submit to one. Unfortunately he has already shown himself to be a dishonest man, so I imagine he will not volunteer. Brett seems to be "a good man" in the mold of our fearless orange supreme leader.
