Crap gear!

Can I put a companies customer support on the list?

My question: I have one of your ropes that I have a concern/question about....

First sentence of their response: If you have a concern regarding the rope you should contact your dealer.
WTF, Why do you even have a contact link on your website.

My dealers first sentence: Hey Frank! I am always happy to look at the rope for you and give you my best opinion.
Further down...We don't sell that rope anymore but I will just credit the cost if you want something else.

See not so hard... More purchases from dealer, and none of them will be ever be products from that manufacturer.

I'm also good with both large and small Caritools. L on the right, S on the left. I've had the same ones for years.

Falteimer cubes are worth every darn cent. Every knock off I've experienced wants to twist shut if you sneeze at it, or throw a rod out a corner. The Falteimer does what you want it to...stay open, stay intact.

Oceans nails it. I've not treated the cubes I've had any different. Rods through the corners, bottom wears thin and all in less than a year. The Faltheimer has lasted a few years and shows no signs of wear.

I can't call it crap but the Sequoia was disappointing when it came down to longevity. Parts have worn out that could be replaceable but they're not. So, Petzl thinks I should have to buy a new saddle instead of replacing a couple of pieces that have worn out.

I have 2 of these with me every day and use them sometimes maybe a dozen times a day or more...the best way to go...forget the cubes, all mine sit on the shelf in the garage.

Once the bag goes thru the crotch you simply put your foot on the top of the unit and line feeding stops keeping it from going any further where you don't want it or stops a miss although I know you never miss ;-).

If I don't hit it in the first 2-3 throws I probably won't for a half hour. Seems like I've got a couple good throws before it starts to go downhill and every half hour, I can throw decently again. Mysterious. Throw line has to be both the greatest asset and worst pain in the ass in all of Arboriculture.

I have one of them and love it. Has held up better than I thought it might, considering it is so light.
Once in awhile, while using the Bigshot with it, the line will be snagged enough to suddenly, and without warning, launch the winder.
I've also given up on using a cube - got fed up with untangling throwline bird nests.

I have never had the "winder" launch but am very careful not to allow and kinks in the line when wrapping.

Only thing you need to be careful with is, do not drop any brush on it on a cold day. I broke one and Jim Clark, Tree Machine replaced the full unit much to my delight and since, over years, I am more careful.

I use the weaver bucketish thing. It is fairly good. Doesn't stand up, but stays open. And has dividers so it can stack three throw lines in there. It is falling apart after a couple of admittedly rough years. Think I'll get one of those tool bags somebody was showing off in the tips and tricks thread.

Rocket Line by AllGear. Cover melts easy, picks, frays. Looks a year old after two weeks of work.

Response to past posts:
Dynaglide green is my favorite throw line. If u don't like it, I think it's because u didn't give it time. It comes really waxed and is aweful for the first week or two. Then it's supple and slick as can be super strong too.

Large caritool is good. Place at back of saddle, yes it does hook stuff.
