Crap gear!

I can't put down zing it, or dynaglide, I've made some nasty tangles with both but it happens, and dynaglide has a 1000lb tensile.
Doesn't weaver make sherrills throw bags? (Not the highball) I like the weaver premiums, I've tore the bottom webbibng off but never a ring, I'd like the Harrison's if they used a full ring instead of the D.

Bugz glasses-no thanks

Huh, I like the Harrison's precisely because they use the D rather than the full ring. I've never had a line come off the D, but I've had one come off the ring while installing a friction saver. Think I'd agree on rope boss bags. Mine had holes in it inside of a month. I wouldn't call this crap gear, but the gecko throw line didn't live up to my expectations. Just too finicky for production work in my opinion. Loved how it threw though. Caritools for sure. Crawling through a nasty ash tree you can't help but snag and break them. I've been mostly pleasantly surprised by my gear. I've been a fairly early adopter of a lot of stuff (at least the earliest in my area) and I haven't had a lot of lemons.

I made a mistake a few weeks ago, I thought I was pulling over a tree with a jammed knot. When in fact I was pulling on the throw bag I was trying to install the tag line with. It was a weaver d ring, and it held up with a MA system pulling a large tree over. It distorted the shape, but the ring held. Pretty impressed I was. Also stupid...but that's for a different thread

Okay I had to pick a thread to ask this.....How do you guys make the quotes? I still have not figured that out. Sorry for the short derail.

As i'm picturing my rusty gear, and to be fair with Ropetek : Rock Exotica can also use crapy metals.
But only rivets are rusting here. Received it in Costa Rica, sea shore was close and humidity level not really high as it was the dry season, it started to rust a couple of days after its arrival.

Now i get why these gears never went through EN standards.

Edit : I've received answers from Rock Exotica as i was asking them about it too. And wow this is a complete different song. Reasons are allmost the same : these rivets need to be strong and for that reason steel is needed. It is corrosion resistant but not proof. They told me that "rust hasn’t been a problem in the past but I can see it under extremely harsh conditions" and i'm pretty OK to beleive it as i used it in harsh conditions.

Beside that i'm amazed by Rock Exotica's after-sell service. They offer me to replace it for free even if the gear has been drumed by Richard, no question about that and so far i don't know a brand that would react this way if holes would have been drilled in their gear, but i know many that would have answered "man you've just loss your guaranty". Good to know : they will take out the up part of my old Uni and send it back to me with the new one so i could try to put it back on my new Unicender.

So far i'm really impressed and want to whoop "oh yeah Rock Exotica rox !".

Rock Exotica makes the best gear on the planet and their customer service is excellent.

I lost my Falteimer cube a few years ago and stupidly replaced it with a Weaver. Corners blew out inside of a month and I had to fix it with shoe goo, which ironically lasted longer than the corners did originally. This was the old black and green Weaver, so I'm hoping the beefed up version really is better but I wasn't going to take the chance. After re-shoe gooing the corners every 3-4 months for the past 2 years, I finally replaced it with another Falteimer.

I've had my Weaver Cube for over a year now and it is still fine. You guys must be seriously brutal on throwline cubes. You know your just supposed to just put the weight in the Big Shot not the entire cube, lol.

I snapped a couple of rods in my black/orange weaver cube, stole replacement rods from an old one, and stitched it back up with whipping twine. It's not pretty. In fact we call it Frankencube. But it's holding up and works just fine.
