Crap gear!

Never never ever ...buy a Truckcraft aluminum dump insert for a pickup. On second piston and second pump and the second piston seizes on 2 out of the three down stages of the piston and we have to pull it down with 2 guys hanging on the sides, and soon ...again...it won't come down at all. Had to declare Jihad on company to get them to honor the written 2 year warranty I had right in my hand and one time when I called the guy said he did not have any authority and he was the wrong person to speak to...next guy I talked to told me it was the company owner I just spoke to....GAR BAJJJJJJE...$6,000.00 worth.

I snapped a couple of rods in my black/orange weaver cube, stole replacement rods from an old one, and stitched it back up with whipping twine. It's not pretty. In fact we call it Frankencube. But it's holding up and works just fine.
If you break one of the rods and don't have a spare to steal replacements out of here's a trick. Find a plastic hanger and cut the bottom piece out of it, sand the ends round so they're less likely to pop through the cube, slide it in, and stitch it up. Works as good as, if not better than, the fibreglass rods as the plastic is more flexible, shatter resistant, and beefier so less likely to poke through.

If I still had some ball locks, I would send them away for free. I have no idea how people use those - must have some pointy fingers. I have to rock my fingertip around to just the right spot to get that button to push in all the way.

im down with the ball lockers, but then again i have little hands. you mighta seen me on the burger king commercial for the mini burgers

been waiting for someone to say mention stump vices. i cant be the only one who disregards the one thats kickin' around the tool box am i?

The stump vice is great, but I hate having to take the stump out of the back of the truck every time I want to set it up. Seems like so much effort when you could just mount it to something flat and waist height. :) Great idea...wrong marketplace. Excellent for loggers.

Good one.

As far as the the throw cubes go, I've never tried the faltheimer but I've heard there's a huge difference. Hope so with the price :)

I guess we have to take some responsibility for them breaking in the past though. Each time, they were left open and on the ground. Once someone tripped over one, and the other time a long reaching limb tip on a falling tree hit it. Neither time they seemed as if they should've broken so easily. I mean hell, you nudge one that's open and it just collapses. But they don't get left out and open anymore.

Not sure that thin fiberglass is the best material for the rods though. I think that is where the problem lies. It's always a rod that breaks.
