Compact Bulldog Bone

@oceans
The arrowfrog is totally NOT sucky.
It performed incredibly with the wrench and Bone
DdRT too. Still getting used to how much thinner it feels compared to imori.
The crazy alien green/black color scheme is the kitties titties.
Looks like I'm climbing on a green lazer beam....or like a snake from outer space or somethin. Mwahaha

Years ago, I came across some safety glasses with, I think, Amber lenses. All I remember is they were really dark looking for people looking at me, but for me, they totally lit up all the colors I normally don't see so hot (I'm really color weak). My ropes looked like you're talkin, all super laser bright. I loved it!

The downside to glasses like that is you take them off and remember it is overcast and raining.

Stop spraying hort oil on them before you climb them... and double check that bar oil cap on you top handle too!

You know, you've got a point there, Reedy. I stopped putting bar oil in the saw and decided to start lubing the whole tree with a backpack sprayer before I go up. Think I'm gonna take your advice.

Well, it might be raining hort oil. Everyone seems to be trying to do something about these Winter Moth caterpillars right now. Not much longer and it will be raining Spinosad.

Has anyone tried spraying imperial stout yet? Wow, what a derail....

@ Wyatt Spruck, some break in is required with the Bone (not a boner joke) and you will find a bollard size that works well on the Arrow Frog, it's the 3/4 for me and most (I'm 170 without gear). Enjoy, it's an awesomely simple and effective device.

I'm 195. I run the 5/8" bollard on most mid 11mm lines and up. I used the 3/4" bollard on 7/16" (11mm) KMIII.

In general, the device will slowly break in, but you'll also get more familiar with the device and how it acts. Things that you find touchy or what not will be less noticeable as you acclimate.
! :)

THIS! (like so much of what Oceans offers)

Like all tools, we tend to focus on a new tool versus what we want to do with the tool. Once you get back to more of a focus of getting to where you want to go versus how to use this tool to get there, I am betting you will find it a very comfortable fly IMO.

I'm trying to decide what I should do for my 1,000th post. Something incredibly meaningful and brilliant I think...I just can't think what I should do. Any suggestions?

I haven't had much time on the bone yet (roughly 5 climbs), I've been using tachyon with the 5/8" bollard. I'm about 180 lbs.. I've been reading that some people actually use the 3/4" bollard for a smoother descent. Being in Canada and only having a limited supply of the cotter pins, do you guys think it is worth trying, or just keep the 5/8"?

Keep to the 5/8"

Need some help. Trying to get my bone working with safari. I have tried all of the bollards and the 5/8 seems to almost be the best. My rope creeps through the bone and just cant get it to stop. In the ziploc bag full of parts that Surveyor sent there is a "bollard" that is 7/8" long and 3/8" round. Is this meant to go on the bollard with the pressed pin on the removable upper link to add more friction? If so how do you remove the pin from bollard on the removable upper link?
