Compact Bulldog Bone

"Get the Bone." - It's a catchphrase that you can have too much fun with...

Thanks surveyor - still to organise some things at work before my order - though now I know exactly what I need.

In the meantime I'm just trying to figure out the best possible attachment points for self tending in DdRT and SRT. In DdRT I have friction at my TIP as I don't use a friction/cambium saver as I do mostly removals.

Thanks

This set up works quite well for using the bone Ddrt. Zero sitback and no slop.

Yesterday I was testing the product. I was disappointed because it is not working. I do not know if it is possible to use bone Climbing rope 10mm just only Arbo ropes. Up goes down nicely unfortunately not brake. rope stops completely. Slightly goes down. The second thing is that when at home, I discovered that I was stupid. I am not fit one Chain .. maybe after remedial work will be.

Thanks Mike. I think it's another thing I'll just have to experiment with myself (everyone has a different preference for tending). I was looking to get away from having to tie anything to the other line (even small cord) - I was wondering whether a boat/stainless/trigger snap would work at all (to clip to the line - from a permanent small tether attached on the bone)? I don't want to wear any tending harness upon my person for many reasons.

I have to praise the bone again because I just realized that I no longer have a sore elbow like I always used to when I had to fight tend a friction hitch.

I just received my Bone, and I'm anxious to take it for a spin. At this point, I'm working on a tether, and I ran across your post, Mike. So keeping your experience in mind, I think something a little stiffer would be the way to go.

I have been using a neck tether with just a ring from an old throw back girthed onto the tether. i put an S-clip from the hardware store on designated spot on spine of the 2nd gen. bone and was just clipping it to the ring on the tether. i also use a key ring on the top link pin instead of a cotter pin. i saw someone else on here using it and it seemed like a good way to not go thru 100s of cotter pins when playing with bollard sizes.
while i was on the ground today setting up to climb i noticed the s-clip some how hooked the key ring and got the bone stuck in a position that wont catch the line. if this had happened in the tree and one were to sit on it, see ya later bye.
i just wanted to get pics up incase anyone uses any sort of key ring on the bone and a clip on the spine like i do, could be bad news.
