Compact Bulldog Bone

So Gordon, Not like I'm looking to make a purchase today or anything, but like I alluded to earlier, I'm probably going to make a purchase for a symmetrical DRT setup somewhere around January. Currently considering 2 bones with nano mods connected to a rigging plate connected to a swivel pulley on my bridge. Right now, I'm thinking the best bet would be petzl open rings, but even that wouldn't be my idea of ideal. Got any ideas or projects in the works that would help with that?

I'll keep thinking on it, and keep my ear to the ground for ideas from the collective. I was thinking you may have something in the works because of the recent tinkering with multiple climb lines.

The new DMM shackle pulleys due to come to market next year will make my goal (symetrical DRT with as little added over all length as is feesable) a lot easier to obtain, but there's no telling what the MSRP on those will be. A 200 dollar price tag would be a real bummer.

JTREE, I've always thought the rock exotica shackle swivels might be workable for incorporating into the bdb.
Wouldn't the eye be too big to pin directly on to the bone? I ask because I don't have one in hand. If you used the shackle end to connect to the tear drop, then you'd need an additional piece of hardware between the bone and the rigging paw (or whatever you plan to use to keep them separated). It would be ideal if RE made a shackle pully that had a nano eye on one end, but alas. No dice.

Maybe I just need to suck it up and stick with two bridges or something similar, but I just don't like how the 2 systems want to squeeze together when the angle gets too sharp. I'm concerned that they could interfere with the functionality of each other.

I never did check all the dimensions but it looks like the shackle can be used instead of the half link on the bdb that the teardrop is currently on.

Maybe you should call your Bone the Skeleton. Is the Spine aluminum? Just be aware that without the nubs on the top release arm, there is a possibility of the top arm cross-loading with the bottom arm.

The four arm OAR will likely creep SRT, but should work DdRT, even with just two arms with Tachyon.

Whoa now. I .. I.. ..Anybody climbing on that Gordon?. Lanyard adjuster? What's it do ..:rebotando:

There is a UK climber that has been using a two arm OAR (without the hook ends) DdRT, for going on three years this summer.
He has customized the attach points. If you would like to see it, and the progression of OARS I have made, there is a post at
Arbtalk entitled "Bulldog OAR ascender/descender"

Yeah, lanyard adjuster ther Gordon. Have you tried that out?

I need some help:

I climb mostly Ddrt (or moving line), but occasionally would love to be able to use same device/technique for SRT.

Should I get a Bulldog Bone and make/mod it for Ddrt, or should I get an OAR and make/mod it for occasional SRT? - If OAR - should it be 2 arms, or 3?

Thanks
