Compact Bulldog Bone

That's what I thought from his last post. I am interested in how that handles when he has full weight on it. It maybe just be the picture angle but his pivot point looks further away than mine.

Eric, Is there any dif between velocity cool (on right I believe) and velocity hot I am climbing on now (zzag). Blue I have, seems heavier while the same dia but it could just be the age.
I don't know of any difference other than how much dye is absorbed to make the colors. A darker rope will probably have more dye, so potentially a bit heavier and slightly larger diameter. Age might also play a role, but as fibers wear off and fray up, the rope should actually weigh less in theory, right? I don't know...I'm quite certain about the dye, but I certainly doubt any manufacturer would ever give out any hard data on that, and probably for good reason, I imagine.

me too. she runs nicely on the black kmiii. did a few 50' ascent/descent test climbs this afternoon. very intuitive and felt like the tree was more likely to fail than the bone. did a few fast descents to full stop and had no creep. only climbed srt but maybe tomorrow i will try ddrt. thanks Gordon
anyone got a video of a removal on the bone?

Is the top left from Marlow?
Yessy. It's the kernmantle called 'Aeris'. Marlow has splicing instructions for it as well, and beautiful looking results. It's pretty darn thin though. Might be nice for DSRT, just think I (200 lbs.) might slowly glide downward even with the 3/4" bollard.

Oh, Dave, you are PRIME for the Nano Swivel mod in your future! :)

I thought about it Eric, having Gordon put one on, but after climbing 40 years with my hitch in about that location and the last about 4 0r 5 on a zzag with the same set up that puts my hitch up and away from my waste, I think I will go with this for a while.

ML...I think your upper arms have the second set of holes for the pivot to let you experiment with what works best for your 'fat' rope and were a special item.

The newest bones have a friction link to pivot distance of 1-3/8" while the previous standard was 1-1/2".
