Compact Bulldog Bone

It works for me. On that specific weekend I'd need to take leave from the fire department on Friday and Sunday and won't have it confirmed before 30 days out. Is there somebody who has some kids gear we could use. Make it a family weekend?

I Wanted To throw an Idea out there for the surveyor. What if there was a little more room between the lower pin and the spine of the bone to allow for a bollard? It would act like pulley to advance it more smoothly.

My first two batches allowed for a bollard to be installed with a quick pin after the rope was installed, but most did not seem to use this option.
I have tried installing a 7/16" bollard on the existing Bone friction links which works on a narrow rope and seems to add some smoothness, and which is trapped by the snap swivel link. This bollard can then be removed easily to allow for a fatter rope, but of course can also be dropped easily
The Bone uses stock size roller Chain links, so the design is constrained by this, also a roller at the bottom friction point is detrimental to the overall grip.

It seems the second Ballard wouldn't help much unless it was installed on the lower pin. I'm following what you're saying though. The only minor complaint I have is about it not being as smooth pulling slack through. Aside from that I'm totally digging it. I have done probably 30 removals in the short month or so I've had it as well as quite a few trims. It's more my go to on removals because I love how compact it is. When I get down to just the pole I can chock off and use it as my second tie. No more need to switch over to my figure 8.

dmm spacer. there is a lot of slop with that because the inside diameter is larger than the swivel link. unless he added some spacers to fill the space. It doesn't look like it though.

Yes. Even though it works well in a haul back system, it is not a Hitchclimber pulley, so don't try to use it like one. When pulling slack from below you need to take some weight off it by hip thrusting or grabbing above it to disengage the bottom arms grip completely. It will work without doing so but you will feel more drag than perhaps you would like.
