Do they even know what language their One True Son of Arborist spoke in daily life? Have they ever read one single official document, written in the several extant languages of the time, that leads them to certain knowledge that this one is the Word of Arborists and that one is pure gibberish?

Now, we're ready to interpret our arborist certification document differently. Let's start with the clause where we are to go down to the river and smash the skulls of our babies against the rocks, if we can't raise them to be good arborists that follow the letter of the law regarding the Word of Arborists document.

I usually stay far away from these discussions, but for some reason I felt like contributing. I really appreciate your approach and reasoning so I thank you for adding to this conversation. You said a lot of what I was trying to express, but you said it better and more...well more better.

Your statement seems to imply (correct me if I'm wrong) that God is angry, and vengeful; finding it necessary to punish his children for their misdeeds. Mike I apologize. I had too much happening around me to even have had my face grazing over this thread and I gave you a poor short answer. Partly one punishment you speak of is or could be qualifying as your own . I'll put up this link cause I'm short on time , and have know idea how anyone can stand to type more than a paragraph at a clip, I suck , I know, but for some reason our interaction popped in my head today at work. I really enjoy the time that went into this post. You did a great job of capturing the ridiculousness of what some believe to be the route the Bible took. One thing I thought fascinating is that the languages the Old and New Testament were written in "died" shortly after... Now some might think this adds to the unintelligible nature of scripture, but if you think about what this allows for is really brilliant. To expound on this, If the Old Testament was written in English the meaning and nature would have drastically differed from todays understanding of the English words that were used. Having it written in a language that has not changed in centuries and centuries - it has allowed for a preservation of the text. Just thought that was interesting... I know that is not in anyway what you were looking for in response to your post, but it did put the thought into my head.

Reminds me of the sanskrit recipe for the Big Mac I translated last week. "Special sauce" my eye, and why hide that kind of thing in a Hindu epic?!?

For salvation and justification that however many they kill, there remains an open and welcoming gatekeeper in heaven if they only say yes, we accept the lord god as our only savior.

Oak wilt You speak of these things . I'll speak for the many more whom are so humble and unseen that represent the very core of goodness that holds us all together with their actions. This life is a test and a trust. God is righteous and true with faith hope and love . Not this earthly hate you bring with your posts. You confuse God and man.
 
Sorry I don't have a ton to add that will be as exciting as where this thread has been heading. I will say that I find it quite confusing that a while back in this post non-believers were using the whole "stop trying to shove religion down our throats" approach yet are shoving their disbelief down ours in one of the two threads regarding Christianity on this whole forum. Doesn't really add up.

Levi where you been. Glad your buzzin.. I've been jamming to this lately. My wife was diagnosed with Booby cancer back in November it all began. She had a double mastectomy in January and is in a great recovery process and her lyphnodes were all clear from cancer. All I can do is thank God everyday everything.
