Cat rescue gone south

I had the same thing happen to me just a couple of days ago, my first cat bite in a rescue. Cat clamped on in two places, on top of my hand, and on my wrist just below the palm (it was my fault, I mishandled the cat). The wounds were cleaned with peroxide and rubbing alcohol after the rescue, but my hand was swollen and stiff. The next day, I went to a walk-in clinic and the doc gave me a tetanus shot, antibiotic pills for 6 days and industrial strength anti-inflammatory. The anti-inflammatory really helped, my hand was stiff and sore that morning but was feeling much better just by that night. Currently, my hand is almost back to normal. The Doc also warned me that my the lymph nodes under my arm might swell, but that did not happen. My cat was not a stray and had all of its shots up to date, may have made a difference as to it not being as bad as yours.

Hope you get back to normal soon.

I love dogs and cats... put human health before them though.. Its just coming out how harmful parasites carried by cats can be... I haven't had much luck with the one or two cat rescues I attempted... haven't had a call like that in 20 years...
