Heres a pic of some splices I've done recently. I'm fairly new to splicing as well and these are my double braids (probably my 2nd, 3rd and 4th DB splices). The PI is done by tucking the cover into the core first. That was my first DB and my practice. The tight eye in the tachyon is my favorite and came out the best, in my opinion. That is done following New England's "triple braid" instructions so the core is tucked first. Its much easier to do it this way. I lost the cover tuck multiple times with the PI. I realized i forgot to put my snap in on the tight eye half way through
so I decided to splice the other side with a thimble to try it out. Not as good as the tight but still good I believe. I think its harder to set the eye w/a thimble in it because you cant get all the slack or bunching out (again, just my opinion), maybe some of the vets have better techniques! Let me know what you guys think!
