Accepting credit cards via smart phone???

Intuit's GoPayment is now available in Canada. Received the reader a few days after a simple sign up, downloaded the app and did a test today.

GoPayment had good ratings on the comparison site Tom posted earlier and is supposed to have better tech support than Square...

I had problems with square recently holding funds from us and now we are fighting with them. After many transactions, this happens. Not easy to communicate or get answers. Sticking with PayPal, never a problem.

I have had good luck with square. No probs and the clients love it.

I don't charge extra for using the card, either. It sort of hurts when they pay a $3,000 bill with a card, but yeah- the payment process is done, so suck it up and move on.

We use Intuit's GoPayment and it works...

Plus side: Low percentage rates on certain types of cards. User friendly. Never had a problem with funds going through.

Cons: $9.95 monthly fee, and the people that work there are morons. Slightly longer processing time for Intuit than Square. I always wonder where my money is...

Overall great service, love just plugging the device into my phone and swiping the card. I've had people excited to get a new fishing pole from Cabellas, also they are happy with the flyer miles they get, and it works great when finishing a job while client is out of town, you can get paid via a phone call. I'm sure I've gotten jobs just because I accept a credit card.

I just saw that Square has enabled employees to process cards. Not something that I'm concerned with now but I could see at my previous jobs how handy it would have been for me to be able to take payment when finished with a job.
