Not the 7 fingered fire wood guy in Lyons. I know a guy in Boulder. They will either become best friends because they are alot alike, or the guy I know will Espalier his cocky ass. I have been around the world and done a thing or two, and this guy scares me. Psychotic and highly volatile.

Treelogic, I wanted to say thanks for your time BTW.

For those of us that aren't familiar with the specie, about how old would live oaks that size be? I think they grow really slow, right? My brother lives in Mississippi and the communities there charish them.

If they grow slow, there can be a lot of yrs in just an inch of dbh. Can u put a big range on it?

I don't touch property line trees unless BOTH landowners agree and it is also clear as to who is paying for it.
Sometimes it pisses off my potential customer that they have to speak to their neighbor; but too bad, if they want us, they gotta do that or let me contact them.

I think this is a great point you make about having both homeowners agree on property line trees and about what is being done...I know I despise getting in between two homeowners that don't like each other...

Who's the boulder guy? I want to meet him too.

Man o Man I had no idea when I posted the article you guys would have so much fun with it! Thanks TL for posting the closeups; really scary. bush up nicely yeah I made an 8" cut on a willow oak once after storm damage and it took 2 years to sprout, and 6 more to look like a branch again. I hope that city guy can step up or step in or something.
Now I have one more reason to stop in Cton next time I go south. Gotta see that with my own eyes.

Glad you're back in thread Guy. Did you see the sunlight hitting those fresh cuts? Geez! I'm picturing some nice rot in the near future.

Thanks again for posting it because I might have missed it altogether. I gotta start reading the paper more :)

I blame the Landscape Architect. Crazy cowboy was just taking orders. He could have walked away but in his head its just another job.

I blame all. But it's not as shocking as the self deifying of Bad Ass Badeaux (pronounced Bad oe).

It blows my mind for someone to build themself up more than I have built myself up :vomito:.
What the heck is wrong with that kid?

Yeah who knows, Marshall might turn things around and make good on his mistake. I sincerely hope he can come on treebuzz and learn with us. I tend to forget sometimes that we've all been blessed with a really good place to learn our craft.

That image is scorched onto my retina forever. I would give good money to be able to un-see that.

Maybe that pic belongs In the "Crane Porn" thread?;)

Humility can take some time to learn and understand. It took me several decades to appreciate the understanding of the word. He's a kid who hasn't fully experienced life's ups and downs. In my experience, guys like him tend to burn out quickly. He might be a bad ass "climber" but does he have the business sense to play in this game long term? I tend not to think so.

"first and foremast female professional tree climber in recorded history " Mrs. Badeaux ...not the place for mom jokes , I'll let it go .
That pruning happens more than you think , why wasn't it stopped while it was happening ? scheduled when they were away ? x sent me to this thread , kind of glad I was sober when I read it , tee ball .

This "landscape architect" is a wholenother thread. How does someone go to college for four years, intern, and pass all the qualification exams to become a landscape architect and then give orders to mangle a row of beautiful live oaks like that? It's kinda crazy if you think about it.
