I work for a pest control company in western ny. Not saying endangered bats but bats in general were not allowed to work on homes with them from June 15th to aug 15th due to their mating season. In a normal circumstance we may use exclusion work to seal up holes in a home/business or use one way...
We don’t have many here in Buffalo, ny. We have some but most according to my friend are London plain. Our biggest tree is a sycamore. From 1871. It has maybe a 10’ base. It’s downtown. Pretty cool to see. Always mesmerized by the big monsters.
You can do say 40 an hour with a machine. Maybe up to 60 if you have two guys doing it. Key is have the wood next to you so it’s easy to load it. Many guys will do wholesale to gas stations and such. We generally just put them at friends houses.
We built sheds that hold around 50-60 with just...
I’m a firewood operation in western New York. We get mostly ash and silver maple from tree services and we’re around $400 a full cord, although it’s sold by the face cord here. We go up to $150 a face cord or so for hickory, cherry, oak, or locust if we do get it.
We use face cord bags from...
We had a champion 27 ton model for a bit. Did ok but really needed to be level. I had a brave 34 ton and that lasted forever and sold it for more than I paid six years later.
We sold them to get a Wolfe ridge. We have the 28 sho. We’re a firewood business only though and do some work with the...
We do firewood. And bundles. We use Ash or try to for bundles. Been getting wood from a guy locally with a 14 acre plot. He’s currently at 750 ash trees down and they’re only halfway done. He labels every fifty trees with a marker. We’re in western New York.
I live in Buffalo. Been to soar valley before. Didn’t know anything about this. Came across this not too long ago https://www.dec.ny.gov/animals/5248.html
The biggest tree I know of in the area is a sycamore in downtown Buffalo. I think it has about a 10’ base. I live next door to a historical...
The wood splitter guys are great. They never even bash each other just give the other company a different option. One of them will go onto Facebook pages even if someone is trying to make their own splitter. He gives them recommendations on flow and varying parts.
Would be excellent on saws.
Our dealer is a husky/stihl place. Last I knew had over 100k in orders out trying to get equipment. Barely any saws in stock at all or able to get them.
I waited four months for the 500i. I seen the new 400 stihl had to offer as well but one of the employees bought it.
there’s I bet four...
It ended up costing $30 with extra insurance. $10 of it though was using their preferred box as they didn’t like mine. They packed it and shipped it. Supposed to be there Wednesday. Used fed ex. We split shipping cost.
Facebook set the shipping rate as an auto pay and it was $3.75. I asked him about shipping and he said it was paid for. I’m like how much? That’s what he told me. I knew it wasn’t going to cover it. Would have to figure it out.
It may or may not be relevant but this came up locally so I searched for it and figured I would post it. Good luck!

We just got a new mt 100 about a month ago. We ordered it March 22nd. (We’re a firewood business). It was supposed to be six weeks. Then extended into ten weeks.
it turned into ten and a half weeks before it was shipped. Then took another 3.5 weeks or so before it arrived.
One piece of advice...
They came out in bunches this week in my area. I found one Monday in a little hardware store in pike, ny. Ordered it a year ago and first one they got in. Bought it.
Then that afternoon bought another for a buddy at ace hardware in Attica, ny.
Dealer I’ve been on a wait list for four months...
Ordered a 500i from our dealer here in Akron, ny about six weeks ago. They had 15 on order and I was number 11 on the list. They have not gotten a single one or the new 400 either.
They have 100k in saw orders in total out both husky and stihl.
When I was in there this past week they had...
I’ve never used them for any tree work but I’ve had them for around twenty years for skeet shooting. They work excellent. There’s a guy here in Rochester, ny who used to go to shoots and make them for people.
