It is very slow. But it's faster than me.
I personally haven't run into a heat issue yet, but I'm definitely constantly aware that I'm probably approaching a use ceiling / failure point at some point. Strain on the truck frame, battery, alternator, parking brake, controller, winch motor.... So...
I have one in the bumper of my truck that I've been using pretty heavily for the last 6 months. It's a bit slower than a hydraulic, but it pulls extremely hard - much harder than any gas capstan I've used. It'll surely have a shorter lifespan than a hydraulic unit, but for 250 bucks? Pretty hard...
Maybe I'm just inept, but the search bar produces virtually zero relevant results and many pages of irrelevant results. Google searches such as "treebuzz hedge trimmers shears" doesn't bring up anything good, either. Not saying the info is not out there, just that the old internet is being...
I need to buy a pair a set of hedge trimmers for some upcoming jobs. I don't plan on doing a lot of hedge work, but not none either, and if I'm going to do it I want it to be as comfortable as is reasonable, but I'm not made of money. No strong preference of battery or ICE.

I've been using a homemade rigging wrench a bit lately made from a pinto rig, regular rope wrench and soft shackle. With 1/2" stable braid it requires a pretty large piece to run smoothly. Bigger than most tops I would want to negative rig, but nice for large branches and small logs. Takes quite...

If a recently unemployed arborist wanted to drive down there with gear and try to help out, who should he contact to be of most use?
Not looking to profit, just someone with a lot of free time suddenly and willing to volunteer.
I picked up a cheap old sunfish on a whim a couple weeks ago. She was in sorry shape but the hull is tight and I've been replacing the parts as I need to. Today I made these main sheet hangers, to keep the line from drooping on tacks and snagging my hat.
Handsaw on the left leg, handle forward. Chainsaw usually on the forward left gear loop, hanging from the top handle on a recoil lanyard. Positioning lanyards on the right side. I have the same gear loop for my chainsaw in the same place on the right hip, so I frequently temporarily rack the saw...
To modify this, since the OP appears to be a new climber: Understand your system.
If you've got a rope with a bunch if nicks, an 8 year old hand me down harness with the original bridge, and you're only kind of sure that you tied a bowline, maybe don't climb in free air?
If you understand the...
