That's impressive! I ascend frog style, my hand ascender is connected to my harness for backup. I'm quite happy with Edelrid static low stretch 10.5 rope.
Yeah, It's really difficult to come up with anything to beat TAZ. I tried it the first year the Ascent Event was introduced but eventually I gave up and bought the TAZ even though I use it just for competitions.
Hi, I think it's a valid setup as you can see in the user manual, but I wouldn't count it as backed up. Also here's an interesting article about hand ascenders and the Ascent event: https://treetools.co.nz/Blog/hand-ascenders-as-a-primary-anchor

You're good for three more years :)
"Dear customer, As of April 2017 the theoretical maximum service life of treeMOTION and treeMOTION s.light was increased to 8 years from the date of manufacture, which consist of a maximum 5 years’ use and a maximum 3 years’ proper storage before. This change...
The quickie and the OG RR are not CE certified and therefore not approved for ISA comps, but you can use CE versions of the RRP or RW. I think the main issue is a lack of CE marking, not slic pins in general, at least in Europe. I'm not sure about the Legends comp though.
I don't actually need one either, I've just bought the RRP couple of days ago since the CE version finally came out in Europe. The option to replace almost all the parts is a big plus in my opinion, compared to the zigzag or akimbo, but it stops making sense once the cost of rebuilding is almost...
Hello,
I was surprised to see that the replacement stainless steel slick pin for RRP cost 60 USD. The slick pin for Rope Wrench costs just 8 USD and you can get a Quickie (with slick pin included) for 37 USD. Any ideas why such a dramatic price difference?
I don't think so, the Stihl 2in1 .325 is for 4,8mm files only. I use the Husqvarna combination roller guide for my t540i and it works great, although it's not as convenient as the 2in1

Grigri isn´t allowed in ISA competitions since it´s not certified for work. You can use Petzl Rig/ID, but the ascent will be much slower than with TAZ LOV2. I think the only device that could challenge TAZ in Ascent event is the RE Akimbo, which has been recently certified and therefore approved...
