Not enough young guys getting told to shut the hell up because you don't know combined with not realizing if you're the best / one of the best you know than ylu gotta go find those who are better to keep improving. I wasnt exempt from needing to be brought down a peg during my earlier years
I listened to you at expo and I've been obsessed with this, Matt. Really, amazing work you and your team did. Thank for your time. And your delivery at Tcia was awesome.
I'd say just the steel ring would be really small. Not saying it's ideal, but early on I was witness to some LARGE pieces of wood dropped into a 5/8 rigged thru a steel carabiner. There are "ideal" tools for certain scenarios, but that doesn't mean other rigging hardware will sever ropes and...

PenSafe rings from.arbsession. they are every bit the quality of the DMM rings. Yeah that's just hydraulic hose sleeve. It works very well. It bunches up nicely and provides enough room to work with. The smallest one was a bear with the hose though. I won't be doing that so small again haha
Some custom friction savers our company Spicy Noodle Splicing made for a client. These were very satisfying to make, unfortunately the rings we ordered didn't all come in time for the products to be finished so we used what we had.
@dmonn one major thing hasn't really been discussed; the relationship between back cut, hinge, and pull.
So let's pretend it was a healthy Red Oak we were cutting. Hinge works by severing enough fibers for the stem to go over, while leaving enough for these fibers to have control of the fall to...
I do a lot of srt climbing and do my removals mostly ddrt. Now I use ddrt a lot, but in a world of production I prefer srt for a lot of things. That said, when time lost in going up and down doesn't matter, playing with ddrt set ups and redirects is a lot of fun and can be so smooth and...
