    Bracing Equipment?

Very interesting news. I haven't seen the video yet. Makita is such a great power tool maker. Love to see them bring it to big drills.

    Bracing Equipment?

The grcs comes with an ~40x mech advantage handle, right? Do the drills come close to that or exceed it and is the grcs designed for that? I think it's supposed to break at 3500lbs. at the bolts that hold the winch to the aluminum plate. Do you want lifting speed or torque?

    Milton

Fine in Gainesville and Jacksonville. Jacksonville had 23 trees down in roads. Gainesville had few power outages. Thanks for checking in @evo.

    Root barrier for sidewalks/street trees

I have heard that the City of San Jose has specified 10 inch thick sidewalks to keep roots from pushing the sidewalks up.

    Coffee Coffee Coffee

I think affordability is difficult to achieve alongside good grinding unless you're willing to grind by hand like I currently do with a Porlex mini. My grinder is great for backpacking and general travel. I enjoy Chemex coffee - nothing like it. To me, it excels with light roasts and does...

    GRCS mounting mod

My intuition is that the wratchet strap for the mod looks less robust than the OG wratchet. I noticed the term used is working load limit. What exactly does that mean? SWL is usually a 5:1 minimum break strength for rigging. If the WLL is MBS, then the SWL is far less than the rest of the...

The Body Language of Trees - A handbook for failure analysis

Continuing the lineage is accomplished by having one allele in existence. In counterpoint, having lots of copies of an allele is a recipe to attract predation. If there is a value system in evolution it is in an allele being present (1, 2, 3... -> infinity alleles), or absent (0 alleles)...

What was your humble beginnings like?

I'm in North Florida, so it's fine most of the time... The job pictured with the live oak included dead wood removal of two 8-10" diameter decayed limbs. I hauled them about 3 miles without incident, then got eaten for lunch by an overpass over a freeway. I did not have enough power to...

    Tree inventory

Try Google MyMaps, importing a two or more column sheet with a top row of header titles, then taking a screen shot of the map and copy/pasting that into your report. The two columns are gps points and the unique name of the tree. If you add more columns, theyll likely be a dbh column and then...
