Re: \"Small\" Knuckleboom
Think it's funny we are called a cult! And that's cool.......but we're really not a cult........JUST A BUNCH THAT LIKES TO GET A LOT OF TREE WORK DONE WITH ONE TRUCK.......and sometimes better than we could with 3 trucks :)
Guy I think it depends on the tree..........and a lot of different factors about each particular tree. When I worked on the west coast it really had me up in arms when I saw 8" dbh eucs lopped back to nothing by knowledgeable arborists???? (and I mean just the trunk was left. Trees with no...
No worries X......this truck wouldn't work for me anyway (mainly because it doesn't have decagonal boom sections......or other EFFER exclusive patents. :[] Your knuckle boom brand rating was slightly off.....it should have read like this: 1st EFFER, 2nd tie between palfinger/ Fassi maybe a few...
dealer here told me today that the 536 electric should be in his store in November! Said the T540 is supposed to be in.....uhhhhh sometime first quarter of next year??? I'm just trying to guess why this saw is taking soooooo long to make it to the stores? problems? or strategic marketing release...
cool story. I think I remember SP as a common name for some tree in pinacae fam. There are others too: sycamore maple, scientific name for Norway spruce is Picea abies......is it a spruce...or a fir???? (obviously a spruce with the square needles but somebody couldn't figure that out when they...
And I don't think any of these companies are "perfect". Overall length plz? And like flying squirrel said ......weight? When the lampin campin is over of course..... :)
X brother I just want to know the overall length ? And U don't want to start a brand debate.......(wait .......I think I started it by proclaiming my EFFER status :) like I've said before if Effer went out of biz I would look elsewhere.
Chart shows about 92 feet high. And remember 80 feet on a kboom goes a lot farther on the job than 80 feet on a stick (this has been discussed years ago on this site)
What is the overall length bumper to bumper? Don't lose the truck! Major clue here........Western Star uses the best steering gear.....that truck will do circles around other trucks that length (if it was spec'd out right) if it were an Effer I would pick it up my self.......(no I'm not B.S. 'ing :)
Dbl612 .......dead on! You're not being redundant.....apparently we can't say this enough. And when we see the equipment fail its usually because it took a massive overload or shock or swing on a previous job. (sometimes we see structural failures with light loads)
