85 ton Palfinger k-boom for sale

My question is what does the unit weigh and can it be legally mounted (Department of Transportation regs) to something shorter with less axles? Those axles were put under it for a reason (could possibly be the concrete product being carried), especially seeing that one directly under the boom. It is an impressive beast though. Hope someone gets to put it to work.

X brother I just want to know the overall length ? And U don't want to start a brand debate.......(wait .......I think I started it by proclaiming my EFFER status :) like I've said before if Effer went out of biz I would look elsewhere.

And I don't think any of these companies are "perfect". Overall length plz? And like flying squirrel said ......weight? When the lampin campin is over of course..... :)

Poor Brother, I will find out the length bumper to bumper I haven't gotten on the buzz this week because I have so many deadlines this week. so I've been trying not to get reading the buzz so I don't get sucked in. but its my lunch break so I'm using my phone to check in.
I would not mind and effer vs. Palfinger debate. As long as you promise not to be mad at me if I prove palfinger is the better crane. Some people view being proven wrong as a reason to dislike someone. I think you are bigger than that.

I will PM the other guy too on the business where it's at.

Length around 38-40 ft . I can ask them to tape measure if u need more definate.

Weight, not known yet, would need to drive to scales to be sure.

Educated guess on weight is 47, 000 lbs.

Yes, it was set up to haul solid concrete foundation walls.

No worries X......this truck wouldn't work for me anyway (mainly because it doesn't have decagonal boom sections......or other EFFER exclusive patents. :[] Your knuckle boom brand rating was slightly off.....it should have read like this: 1st EFFER, 2nd tie between palfinger/ Fassi maybe a few others......then you get down to some that should just stick to building very small cranes......like to unload drywall :) I don't really have anything against stinkfinger or fartsi :)

what about COPMA K booms, how do they rate?

Maybe one of you card carry members from the K boom cult can confirm this.
I was told (by a salesmen...) that effer and your palsfinger got together and agreed on min standards for knuckleboom cranes some sort of certification? . There might have been other companies too, but COPMA was one of the companies that doesnt meet these standards.

Granted the source was a salesman who obviously doesn't sell copma booms so I took it with a grain of salt but is there any truth to this?

47 k???? Thats it? I really think thats way low... im a stick boom guy but pushers and tags are heavy...so are tandem trucks and knucklebooms. I was told the 60 ton effer on tci's with one pusher was around 52k. Palfinger kbooms that much lighter????

Dave, are you Marquis folks getting any closer to joining the cult or are you sticking with sticks?

The 115 must me hiiting alot of home runs for you guys.

No closer to drinking the coolaid and joining the cult, but not ruling it out in the future. I still have a lot of questions, one of these days I will make it out to see one in action.

They all have their place. I look at every job and think how would I do this different with a Stick(like the grove 3055 or similar) vs the kboom. With open eyes I can see the benefit of a stick at times but for me most of the time the kboom wins. If it is just a boom truck the kboom always wins.

Think it's funny we are called a cult! And that's cool.......but we're really not a cult........JUST A BUNCH THAT LIKES TO GET A LOT OF TREE WORK DONE WITH ONE TRUCK.......and sometimes better than we could with 3 trucks :)

I am not knocking k booms one bit they are amazing tools. It just wasn't in the cards for the last purchase. Being able to pick trees at 200' radius was a big selling point for us.

Does anyone know about this certification I was told about?

What do you mean in that last sentence, Mark?

What I mean by a boom truck is a stick crane on a truck chassis. Comparing same size trucks and similar sized cranes.
