What happened to the Matt Cornell Rope Saddle?

Thanks Steve. Facebook' full of poison, mate....I don' know why you bother with it. Nick I am glad to hear your personal friendship with Matt is in tact, despite the fact that his work has been flushed down the toilet over some chatroom argument. As usual, it seems you're the guy everyone...

What happened to the Matt Cornell Rope Saddle?

I don't have Facebook. So what did he say exactly? Matt seemed like an honest guy when I met him once. I have some friends who's views or beliefs I don' agree with, but I respect their honesty and vice versa. I know plenty others who'l tell me what they think I want to hear. Out out those 2...

    Old Growth fir topping

Couple tops from Cathedral Grove this week. It all I really had time to video. First shows a 35ft top cut at approx. 200ft. Second is a big leaning top cut at 150. Unfortunately because the camera/climber is attached to the tree, it doesn't really pic up the extent of motion experienced by the...

    Spurring and chunking

Thanks all I don't think I had it tied off at the bottom, but I don't remember 100%. Maybe my saw was tied to it. There was about 10 ft left of 150 line. Rope wrench and chest harness. Just fell through the hitch perfectly that day.

So the 880 is pretty heavy....

I keep underestimating tree heights of late. I don't know why, or what I'm seeing from the ground. This was yet another. I don't know about being tough, but I have ignorance in abundance. It's a blessing at times. Thanks.

So the 880 is pretty heavy....

I did manage without the 3120, as much of the wood was rotten. Still hard work.

So the 880 is pretty heavy....

Ive said it before....great set up. How far do you go to dump ? Its about an hour round trip for me. Lot of tree companies in Victoria, so its not so easy to get rid of.

I'll get something, pics at the very least. Hoping to do it Monday, so long as it's dry

So the 880 is pretty heavy....

Haha, great picture. Only been to London once, so, you probably know more about it than I do now. Incidentally, just looked this big log to cut down earlier. It's about 50 ft or a little less. Can't fall it whole because of a greenhouse they put up one side, and septic feild the othet. So...

So the 880 is pretty heavy....

Willard, great to see you. I signed up for it earlier in the year, but turned into a mirage. Lots of false starts and cancelations. In the end I was just losing work on my doorstep as a result, so I had to bail. A pic from a site way up in the mountains, between Cowichan and Carmanah. Locked...

50 or more. I'll have to check

So the 880 is pretty heavy....

I weigh about 155. Use a modded 3120 regularly in a tree. Not always because I need the bar length, but often because I prefer the extra power....I am finished sooner. Never thought it was a big deal, once it's in the cut you're not carrying its weight. Technique, like most things.

    Hobbs device

I had a Hobbs before I started working on the Stein bollards 8 yeas ago. Obviously that brought about a conflict of interest. If not for that situation, theres little doubt Id still be using now. It might not self tail, but a single guy can still crank it without too much trouble. The only...
