Hmmm, I used my new Roll N' Lock and PETZL Rollclip carabiner all weekend while clearing 6 small trees. I used it in the same configuration as you describe, but as a mechanical advantage to put a load on branches/tiny trees to direct their fall. Didn't slip even a tiny bit.

One thing that can make SRT harder is short legs and a big chest. I'm 5'8" with a 29" inseam, so pretty long wasted. Top heavy is not the optimum. Still, no MRS for me.

I tried to Quickie but didn't like how it affected alingment of everything. Settled on a DMM XSRE (4 kN rating). Been sitting in the bag for a couple of months, as I haven't done any Rope Wrench climbing lately. The large shrink tubing is just to orient/smooth it.
