Because they are so bad at sealing over wounds, what size cuts are you ok making? I tend to use the 4” and under recommendation for most trees but I’m thinking much smaller than that and we won’t be accomplishing much on trees of this size and growth characteristics

I might have a moderately sized one to prune coming up. About 30 inch diameter but tall and has about eight large leads. I recommended reducing three or four of the leads as this tree leans towards the home and garage and they wanted to keep it around
