That's a fair point. I don't know...I don't do "consumer" debt, so I'm just unfamiliar with it. Somebody is willing to take a risk on these loans, right? What interest do they pay? I see Wisetack advertised in Jobber, but I ignore that. Part of not doing big removals is we have very few...
Right...there may be local or state requirements. For example a municipality may say "before a tree is removed it needs to be identified as moderate to high risk by a TRAQ arborist" but otherwise no regulation or restriction on doing risk assessments.
Will a judge know? Probably not. But an...
The above is the climbing bag. Then there is the "tree tool" bag:
*Felco #13 pruners
*AM Leonard soil knife
*Root saw
*Bolt cutters for taking wire cages off of B&B trees
*Folding utility knife
*Plastic faced mallet for sounding trees
*Chisels for stem girdling roots
*Oscillating saw - also for...
My gear for almost all pruning. A few modest size removals. No big removals.
Primary gear - stacked in the bag in order of how it comes out/gets used:
*Helmet. Had been a Petzl Vertex vent for many years (multiple helmets, same model). Switched to a Kask Super Plasma that broke in 4...
It is rare that I use the form. The form is publicly available, I don't think there is any copyright or restriction that says you have to be TRAQ to use it. I see it as a tool that helps guide the process... Maybe like a map. My first few times going to a new place, I will use the road map...
I just skimmed through Jobber...looks like I had 21 specific tree risk assessments last year. I think 2 of those jobs were for a city which were multiple day jobs. 3 so far this year with another scheduled tomorrow.
While there is always more to learn, I never felt the refreshers were great...
I agree that it seems like a more frequent refresher is better than retaking the full course. That's what I started to type, then I remembered hearing about how they are trying to align with professional standards. I don't know about construction specific...but just in general how...
Don't know about the municipal/urban Forester professional part...but, yes they are requiring full retake for TRAQ. More costly than the extra money for the class is 2 more days off of the job.
(Editing what I just typed because) I think I remember someone saying that redoing the whole course...
I am probably most curious where the "no warning" statement came from... Was that something a reporter wrote because that's how they see it or it makes for a more catchy headline? Did a neighbor or homeowner say that? Or did another member of the crew who has been climbing trees for 37 years and...
The beep is tied to the switch not the pins (at least in my 528). If you have the pins up when you turn the machine off, it puts them back down when you turn the machine off. But even if you leave the switch down, it doesn't lift them back up when you start the machine again...so pins down but...
I can muscle my compressor around, but its not fun. It is a little bit of a tight turn to get it into the barn where I keep it, then 80' back through a tight stretch to the back corner (on stone, so not going to push it by hand). It has always been a pain. I made a trailer hitch mount for the...
Incessantly. I get it! I'm just switching implements! I know!
But where I wish it would continue to beep is if a pin misses the hole and doesn't go down...I'd like it to keep beeping then. When I bought it, the dealer suggested always tipping it down to take a peek at that. Or watch the...
He said "heavy". If the angle works, and the branch ratio works that's better than removal... or breaking.
Other options:
Yellow line which I like less.
One of the forks at the blue circle. I'm not convinced that's enough.
