Even when it involves a lot of back and forth, I like working jobs like that. There's a peaceful quality to it.

I am just assuming that the price is at least a tiny bit more than the previous version, unless the improvement they made was something that made it cheaper to manufacture, and they decided to pass the savings on to the end user. I was also just being cheeky

    Rigging with karabiners

When I was first learning, I called up Dave Stice at Wesspur, and he said he does it, and recommended keeping loads under 300#

That's what I'm interested in is a hookline grab that is more "rope shaped", so it stuffs in the bag nicer. And I wanna free up my BDB to be available for other purposes

    Rigging with karabiners

I've done it a bunch without problems. I bought the ISC Wizard for that purpose, as it's rated for 70kN, and has an option for a rated gate. Years later and the gates still operate flawlessly. I also feel like the shape makes it easier to ensure that it maintains proper orientation

    ISC Nessie

I'm right handed and have always kept both on the right, but I recognize the benefits of throwing from the left to keep the soft goods away from the sharp things. I read somewhere that training an activity with your non dominant hand also translates back to more developed skill with the...

I'm sure he has a reason. It still hurts a little to see such a tree cut down. It was there longer than any of us has been alive, and now it's just a tall stump and a bunch of chips

Yea lawns are definitely an old status symbol. The varieties people plant aren't even from this continent. Fighting the nutrient haul off is a hill I am willing to die on.

That one pisses me off too. Who needs grass?!? I get close to biting clean through my tongue when people say that it's just so messy, and they are tired of cleaning up tge mess almost everyday, like that's some kind of requirement.

That's a helluva tree! Just curious why they wanted it gone entirely and not just pruned back nicely? Did it drop a big limb on something special?

    Maintenance… daily or when needed?

Some things like saw basics and critical safety stuff get checked daily, but some things less often.

That's especially scary that they prefer healthy trees. No way to know if you're tree is higher risk.

I feel the same, and I rock a pretty long lanyard. Anytime I have tried some method for getting it out of tge way, it seems to take more time and mental bandwidth than just being mindful of my tail when cutting anything bigger.

I'm following along. I haven't seen EAB specific symptoms, but there are a bunch of white ash around here that suddenly look really shitty, and I wonder if it wouldn't be prudent to start treating the stressed out specimens preventatively. Also perhaps trying to get the historically significant...
