    Gettin' up in the morning

You know when you look at your gear and you think to yourself "hmmm my total-super kit would be complete if I just had this one thing" and then it never stops. That is what gets me up in the morning and keeps me going in the blistering heat. .... that and supporting my family I guess...

Work is at an all time Low

I am pretty sure if someone ran into my truck and then tried to fight me when confronted about it there would have been an article on the dripline about what happened. So hats off to you for being a mellow dude. Maybe its because I am young that I would have taken the fight or because people...

    The Shultz Effect

I feel the debate over SRT vs DdRT helps shed light on the many advantages of SRT over DdRT. However there are still many uses for DdRT over SRT. It all comes down to the tree. If you live in an area and work with trees that aren't all that tall, or you can wreck a tree out on your ascent...

Tell me something stupid you did!

I was just swinging 20 feet or so in a river birch from one lead to another after setting up my rigging grabbed the first branch I saw and quickly realized it was dead broke right off and sent me flying it probably only happened because the homeowner was watching.

    Considering a Working Vacation

I am in a similar situation myself, unfortunately I don't have the option to take a working vacation. I have not been climbing for very long but have already met the skill level of the other climbers in my company and am training a new one. For now, for me, youtube and this forum are just...

    Stitches removal

I should've followed up with doctors after my arm situation. I have little to no feeling in a quarter of my forearm and sometimes my ring and pinky finger go numb definitely have some tendon and nerve damage. But I was and still am young and stupid sometimes.

Is this tree dead or alive?

It certainly ain't looking so hot! But yes it is just a matter of time. However if there is not anything around for it to damage when tipping over just continue to appreciate the view of it until it does.

    Working as a sole propietor

I am in the process of doing this myself right now. Mostly to protect myself while doing extra work on short days and weekends on my own. I still haven't talked to any insurance companies. Does the cost of General Liability insurance increase or decrease depending on the amount of income you...

    Save My Maple Please!!!

It means the mulch layer should be thin and form a sort of doughnut around the tree and that doughnut can be as wide as you want it to be.

    climbing pet peeves

I hate homeowner or pro arborist stubs left on trees that you don't see until you make a swing and your nuts land on it, they like to hide them on pine trees. If Pfanner made a jock strap I'd buy it until then my nuts will forever be in danger.
