Just bought one and love it (having had a TM). The gear loops are well thought out, and the thing I really dig is being about to put it on and off without stepping into straps. Waiting on the leg pads to see what that might offer.
First time I have liked working with a slow groundie (I get to...
I have a suggestion.
I have spent my life climbing / rock / oil platforms / trees. I still have days, for whatever reason that ‘fear’ sets in. Learn to embrace it and figure out what it is telling you. Maybe you are ‘off’ that day, with a cold, injury or maybe not enough sleep.
Here is my...
Would be happy to demo it. However, on vacation for three weeks (back on the 16th August).
I have a job (big tree takedown) on 18th between a chapel hill and Durham where I will use it; feel free to private message me and come and see and try!

Hey - appreciate that and no worries at all.
If you / anybody wants to know anything more then I am genuinely happy to help.
The biggest difference I have found, being Scottish, and therefore not quite as used to extreme heat as others that I am taking more frequent breaks on the ground than...
None at all.
I called them to learn before I purchased. They spent a significant amount of time answering my questions and I bought it full price.
I love innovation and I love trees.

Ok... The guy in the video is me. This is the first time I used the Ronin and as somebody who has worked in the Rope Access Field (level 3) and qualified arborist for 25 years.. I wanted to take precautions. So, I used a back up rope while I got used to the feel of the device (rope runner if you...
I am taking a three week break! Yes!! However, I believe in learning and re-learning from others.
Question: What’s the best educational material for rigging?

Yes, I am also doing something similar on some trees. I use a twin line rope guide.
However, it’s comforting, when rigging out big wood to have it (Ronin) removed completely. Either lower it off basal tie or - have ropeman descend it (with a mod).
Regardless - awesome but if of kit I will use...
I have now set it up, with a mod... so that a groundsperson can “auto descend it” back to the ground.
Have not seen it eat my rope.

I bought one. It would be better with midline - no disagreement there.
However, I have a dedicated line which I leave on it, and have rigged it so that there groundsperson can ‘pull / descend’ it back. That way it’s out of the way but ready to use on the way back up. Made me more productive...
I have a small tree business where 100% of our work involves climbing takedowns / pruning. We are a two person shop.
I am looking at buying a
BCL1000 / equivalent but want to run some numbers to establish ROI.
Assuming a brand new machine costs 41k what is a sensible depreciation timeline? 5...
In the past, I have rented dumpsters. $430 for 30 yards - no weight limit. So, I was thinking that rather than throw money at this, it would make more sense to divert those cash streams into a solution like bringing in a chipper solution. Quicker and safer.
Other than the cost of a dumpster...
I bought one and now I understand some things it’s great. Here is what I learned...
The cool best makes you feel cooler meaning that you might not drink as you would without it. That’s a big mistake, which on my first time, lead to heat exhaustion. Ugly night!
Now, I drink regularly while...
I may have the opportunity to hire (per day) an 18” chipper pulled by a truck with chip box. This is a partnership arrangement with another tree service who does not use the equipment at the weekend.
What do people think a fair day price for the equipment would be?
