So, I started a TikTok account a few weeks ago and am amazed at some of the comments that come up. Here's an example of a couple of them, but I've had some really crazy ones come up before. Can't really understand what makes people want to spew negative stuff or even make comments like these?
Definitely stay on the high side. Spikes can't come out with that angle, even better than vertical. Under and you're done.
I'd also consider a choker line as I go. If it's very spindly I'd close the gap on the lanyard with a prusik and carabiner.

For me, 10:1 rope is a standard. Hardware is set by the manufacturer based on the type of device and its intended use. Once that is established, then I say rope should be the weak link and work accordingly.
