Knuckleboom Upgrades

@oceans Nope. Totally not comfortable with that. Picks just don’t come off smooth. Cant feather the boom and the saw at the same time plus nobody pays me enough to do both at the same time. Lol. I’ve done it and don’t like it one bit.

Now that’s a nice feature! Tell National to step up!
It was imperative for all 6 to tilt up. I do a lot of difficult access jobs and need the clearance for driveways with a slope. I also have an amazing chart with as little as 10% outrigger spread. I’m telling you this truck is so dialed in for my application it’s amazing. The lit up logo on the rear changes colors if I want and the doors for the mats have my logo cut out as well. Cab has all the upgrades KW has including the seats, stereo and the big engine. Big inverter in one of the boxes and tons of dunnage, synthetic structural lumber for dunnage and 30 mats.

We are hoping to buy a big one in a few years, at least as large as yours if not a bit bigger(we have a lot of rather tall trees, and the 127’ stick boom we use now barely reaches); when we do we will definitely have to connect. I would love your input on our design when it happens.

Absolutely

Hi Steve I'm not sure who built your package but they really did a fantastic job on the layout and fit and finish. BIG kudos to the dealer. It's a beautifully built truck.
I really like how they built your over head cab guard, the attention to detail there is impressive and it looks fantastic (that was a lot of work).
If you don't mind me asking, I noticed the rear outriggers were mounted over frame versus under frame. Was this a decision you made to achieve greater ground clearance? Was a dump body not something that was important to you?
I'm not questioning the build at all.....Truly just trying to learn from it and your reasoning so I can pass it along to my future customers. Please plug the guy who built your truck. As a dealer I can respect the quality. They did an amazing job.

Thanks so much. Westminster Hydraulics built it. I went with the upgraded rears for the tilt up and the HPSC program. They custom made my front bumper outriggers to tilt up as well. Ground clearance is essential as well as being able to shoot over an obstacle then put them down. I didn't want a dump bed. I'm a subcontractor for other tree services. I don't wanna haul anything for anybody ever!! LOL Curb weight is 71600 so based on a 27' wheel base i'm overweight and need a permit. The permit is based on an indivisible load. I couldn't add tho that weight by hauling because it wouldn't be indivisible. Westminster pulled out all the stops on this truck. Its by far the most custom knucklebone around (for now) Tank heaters, cut outs on the mat rack, backlit logo on the rear. So very many things I wanted. I'm happy to give you a video chat tour sometime. The deck has a lot of features that you cant see unless you're on the truck. I love the truck so much. Its amazing. Thanks for the compliments Any other question feel free to reach out. Everything inefficient with the old truck was thought out and this truck was built entirely with efficiency in mind. All those lessons paid off. This is the perfect truck for my application.

I took more time to check out the photo. At first, all I really took note of was a photo taken from the spar. It must be a shot that someone sent to you, and not actually taken by you. I can see you between the outriggers with the remote.
