I strongly suggest that you don't keep the chest harness attached to the BDB except when ascending. There is a slight possibility this can prevent the bone from properly grabbing the rope if you get in just the wrong position. While the chance for a problem is small, I do not consider this to be...
I tried the OnRope1 stiff step and while it added a degree of comfortable, I quickly replaced it with a foot loop similar to the one provided with the SAKA. My boots don't have a deep instep/tall heel and I like to leave the loop on in the tree, so the thickness of the stiff step made too much...
Buy multiple ropes of differing diameters, set the BDB to work best with one rope and the RR with another. Then your choice of rope selects the device.:sisi:
I've been using my zigzag with 11mm New England Fly. With my hand wrapped around the accordion links with the index finger and thumb on the top link (the same as with a hitch), it only takes a very light touch to release and to modulate the speed of descent. It is very easy to go from stopped to...
Geez...I only looked for a few minutes this time but the Greenwheel was one of a couple of places I checked. Checked the drop down and NOT the review.:muyenojado:
Every device that "pinches" the rope from only two sides to create friction will flatten a rope to some degree including the RW. With the HH, the hitch is after the 'flattening mechanical' section and IMHO rounds the rope back out.
I have not found any of the flattening to be permanent from...
It's getting great reviews. I just submitted the following question through Treestuff's "Ask an expert"...
"I've been taught to "screw down so you don't screw up". The concept of this biner is fantastic, but the photo clearly shows that it screws up. Will you be selling a 'screw down' version...
From what I have been able to determine, Petzl USA did not start selling them in the US until about Feb '15. I had to wait until then for Petzl to have them available to the retailers to get mine.

I once watched as a squirrel attempted to jump from a branch in one tree to the next tree and completely missed it. It fell 50' to the forest floor, bounced about a foot high and laid there for a moment as we ran over to it at which point it ran off as fast as I've ever see a squirrel move.:ROFLMAO:
What do you think is different about your BDB compared to others?
I'm beginning to wonder if you have a heavy on/off touch or if you just like a very slow ride down....or both.:D
I've had less hang ups setting or retrieving the rope as the end passes through the quick link since I changed from delta to pear shaped links. My rope often has a sewn eye on the end passing through the link.
I'm another butterfly knot and quick link cinched canopy anchor user.
