A friend and former employee of mine has just learned he will be deported next week, after more than 20 years here in this country legally, working hard to raise his family. He has asked me to help him sell a few things, but I am not up on used equipment values so I’d appreciate some help in...
I heard from Marco’s family again today, with some sad news. It looks like he is going to be deported, and likely as soon as next week. Lawyers have been called, but they all say that nothing more can be done. Once the government decides to deport someone, apparently it can’t be stopped.
This...
That is very well written, and shows he thought out what he had to say before posting it. If only the majority would do that, there would be far less violence and far more progress in discussion and compromise!
Yes, I believe that stories like this are what need to be heard. Outrage in and of itself is not wrong, anger and rage can in fact be right, if properly directed and used.
I use Jesus as an example of that myself, when he went through the Jewish temple in Jerusalem with a whip and drove out...
I am not usually one to post in political threads, as I am in the minority here and don’t wish for contention. However, I received a phone call this evening that has prompted a post in this thread.

Thank you, we will certainly reach out with issues.
Not everyone is good at running a horizontal grapple in tight places, but it works well if you know how. Feeding with one is not hard, with a little practice. And the horizontal grapple is better for large logs, that’s one of the big reasons...
We chip all day, and specialize in limited access removals of large trees. The demolition style grapple is the best option we’ve found for full size machines. The Branch Manager free swinging grapple is what we find to be best for mini loaders. I ran a mini all day today myself actually, with a...
If we could get a crane near it, we would lift it out of there in a couple pieces, probably $2800 and one of the local hacks would charge half that and get the job.The logs have value, they would pay for their own trucking at least. Seems like a project that would take about two hours on site.
I say go for it. Put your bolt as far apart as reasonably possible, at least one or two branch/trunk diameters would be my recommendation. If you can do that, I think the tree will be just fine. If my memory is correct, that is the ANSI recommendation for cables and brace rods.
Yes, the chute rotates continuously with the hydraulic rotation option.
We’ve hit winches many times with grapples, it happens. We keep hoses shrouded to prevent damage, I’ve never seen a hose break from hitting the chipper winch. I agree though, making it fold would be nice.
I’ll second the feeling. I start the lowest paid guys at $20 an hour as well, and have trouble finding them when the local convenience store is offering $18 an hour to start.
Our competitors keep under bidding us left and right, some have a lot more equipment than we do, others just don’t pay...
