It sure is! I’ve been riding this particular sled since before I could walk, and now it is mine, since my grandfather passed the other year. I love to ride, but don’t get to a lot because we don’t get much snow.
Pulled out the old sled today, did the first time in nearly ten years, because we actually have real snow coming tomorrow. Changed one fuel line, cleaned out the primer pump and spark plugs, and the engine fired on the third pull. That says something about the old Scorpion, for sure. And about...
My guys have sure tried a couple times, but they use Stihl power pruners. Our local saw shop knows us well, I just carry the crooked thing in and hand it over. Don’t hardly have to say anything anymore.
Seems like I might be the only person here who actually likes those fuel caps. I despise the ones that require a screwdriver to get loose, I’ll take those flip caps anytime. They aren’t that difficult to use, just takes a little bit of sense and a quick tug to make sure they’ve locked properly.
Try Rick’s Equipment Sales, he might be interested. Also a little shop near me, LK Diesel, might if the price was right, or CP Equipment, also near me, has been known to buy and repower machines, if the price is right (usually that means really cheap)
I have never heard of such a thing, nor have I ever really wished for one, but a power pruner with an offset would be nice. The bar gets a little too vertical for my liking when you start reaching high. The offset on your battery power pruner would be nice on a gas engine model.
It is nice to hear a viewpoint contrary to the popular sometimes. It is also very nice to hear the opinion of an educated person from the country in question. Thank you for sharing that, I appreciate it.
That is odd, because the bar nose on an ES Light series bar is the same as the bar nose on an ES series. We keep replacements in the shop, and I’ve changed several over the years so I know that it is the same bar nose.
I like the sound of that. As long as the protests, stay peaceful and protest like, and don’t turn into looting festivals, I am all for it. I’m not so wild about the idea of dousing some poor guy with water in that cold though.
I would rebuild a drum, but only if it was welded by a truly qualified shop. There’s a couple around here I know could do it properly. I am a good welder myself, and da fair amount of welding; I’ve repaired stress cracks on a drum, and last summer built up worn pockets on a chipper here, but I’m...
What’s with the big crack on the side of the pocket visible in the photo?
Also, I don’t like that inside taper design of the drum, seems that would allow a certain amount of flex in the skin that might cause it to be more prone to delamination.
Hopefully that repair holds up well for you, and...
I’ve never seen a video quite like that, thank you for posting it! I have long been a fast reader, my normal “slow“ reading speed is around 450 words per minute, I can push that to 600 words per minute with no problem. I surprised myself, I could keep up at 900 words per minute with no issues at...
All of ours are 201TC-M models, we run 16 inch bars with 3/8 inch picco chain from Stihl, .043 gauge, and they work great. The Stihl lightweight bars are excellent, and the M-Tronic carburetors are wonderful.
