I, too, have a second bridge that is almost exclusively for my Captain Hook. I DO use it for positioning on occasion, because I prefer that layer of separation over having everything ultimately connected to a single bridge. I subscribe to the concept that a"two diverse connections when...
The size of both the Cali and the Hydra/Rook absolutely blow my mind.
To point...is anyone actually using all THREE of the Hydra's attachment points? I could see two ends of a DdRT setup, or an SRT connection and maybe a lanyard on occasion...but that still sounds like just using two holes...
If I had the funds, I'd have already bought it. Would have been a game-changer for my little operation. Unfortunately, money is growing in the wrong direction. Best of luck!
Any preference differences between single-hand throwers and double-hand granny-throwers?
Seems like most everyone I see at comps and in video online is throwing two-handed, but I have zero release control with two hands. On the flip side, I can hit a 90' tip on a good day one-handed with...
I used to climb with a DEDA lanyard I worked up. Used it for a few years, and I always felt like it was there for me when I needed it, and bailed me out of a lot of tricky spots.
Then one day it occurred to me that the use of a DEDA lanyard and/or having more than two tie-ins seems to be more...
It aaaaalmost sounds like they're describing a third layer between the sheath and core at one point, but they don't go into detail and I've never inspected a late-gen bridge closely after reading about this.
That MAY be all that they do...but their vague details about the differences between off-the-shelf Globe 3000 and Treemotion Bridges suggest more than that. Starts on page two:

The one thing that's not clear about the TM bridges is that they are a "modified/optimized" version of globe 3000, not globe 3000 itself. They say on their site that the cordage has been altered somewhat from the original recipe to optimize it for bridge usage, and they discourage use of raw...
Sorry for the late reply.
My biggest/most significant takeaway from Jamie's presentation was this really neat way to do a soft lock-off of the rope by pulling a bight of your tail through your carabiner and looping it over the top of the device to prevent the frictionless tending from gobbling...
Marlow Vega is listed with a slightly higher elongation at 1.2%, but it's a 24 strand, not a kernmantle, so it may give you a different feel regardless of the numbers.
I'm starting to dig deeper into retrievables, and I've devoured this and the 2016 thread. I threw a toy together last night and thought I'd share.
Treestuff carries This purpose-built retrievable redirect, and I've been wanting to try it, but paying for all the stitching didn't suit the...
Jamie spoke today as one of the presenters during Jambo day 4, which consisted of various industry-based presentations. It was great to hear some details straight from the horse’s mouth, so to speak, as well as further tips and tricks as I continue to learn new and better ways to make it work...
I'd like to see a detachable wraparound-portion of a saw handle for big saws that pops on and off with a lever like bicycle wheels/seats have so I can have the comfort and functionality of a full wrap but can still flush cut my stumps at the end of the day.
