What’s your favourite lanyard set up

@robinia The stitched eye on the end is NOT life support. Half of the stopper knot is visible then the sewn eye. It's there to make a loop instead of having the tail drag around

The rope and cord have been replaced but this is the setup I came up with. KMIII 7/16" and New England Tech Cord

Now I leave a longer tail in the triple wrap fisherman's Tech Cord. When I put the lanyard together I clamp the tail of the NETC in a vise and set the fisherman's with some hard tugs. Seizing/stitching the tail would be an even better solution.

High tenacity polyester, a static kernmantle rope from Sterling Rope.
Stiff stuff, probably flips nicely when used for a lanyard.
Thank you!
So I'm trying my hand at splice any eye with some kermantal rope, 11mm mk lll.
Does anyone know when splicing do I pull the entire core out? Making the eye out of jacket?
It just doesnt seem right to me.

The core carries most of the load in a kernmantel rope, the cover probably wouldn’t be strong enough by itself. I don’t know of anyone doing it that way, but some ropes might have a strong enough cover break strength, testing would tell.

Ok, I could test it for sure.
If I dont have a toss wand, what the best way to bury the the tip? Just with a piece of wire?
I turned an arrow from archery, that has a hollow center into a wand, drilled out the tip and can feed it through the line but it's very tight on this 11 mm mklll line.

Anyone got any tips of the trade to bury this thing with some core strands?

Go to the splice rack section of the forum....they got info on splicing every type rope in any way you can think of.

This double lanyard drop I made.
Cool way to make use of the double sheave pulley.... I remember I tried to do something like this before but found it difficult to Orient in a way it would tend easy so I scrapped the idea.
How long have you been running it like this?

I also noticed you have the captive eye of that isc biner connected directly to the webbing instead of the lower d, interesting. Is that just to shorten your system, to bring your hitch adjusters closer? Any thoughts would be appreciated if you have the time, thanks.

I've been climbing on this system for 4 years now. I've made a few for some of my climbers, but can't seem to get the buzz going around the idea. The only drawback I've experienced is the rope loop that hangs, and the potential to get snagged especially on bigger chunks coming out. A bit of extra awareness and rope management solves this issue.
I did move the attachment point to the webbing of the saddle so it sits behind the D ring on my harness. This reduces the overall length, and frees up the D ring for other attachments.
The ISC Swivel solves a lot of the orientation problems, and aside from that, the setup is pretty much the same as a single lanyard. Just replace your rope and prussiks once in a while and you're solid, I've been on the same hardware through the life of the lanyard.
I have about a 20' tail, so 40' of rope. I can use this system independently on smaller climbs and still have access to the ground. The benefits vastly outweigh any of the drawbacks.
Check out this photo for a bear angle on the prussiks and pulley orientation. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Yes, I use it with a Zillon. Works great with all adjusters I've tried. Doesn't feel any stiffer to me than a lot of other kernmantle ropes, but it doesn't wear out as fast as other ropes. It has some cut resistance, but I wouldn't recommend counting on that too much. It does flip well, for a rope. Not as good as a 5/8" one, but better than most of the other ropes that I use.
