If I have any say in the matter they will sell for less than $400. I don't know yet how much they will cost to make, but I didn't ever plan on getting rich off the Akimbo. It is first and foremost a device that I wanted for my style of climbing with all the features I wanted in such a device. I...
I wish I could have stayed a day longer. I know there are some people that I missed and I didn't get an opportunity to hang out on the one night I had. I still had tons of fun!
The $100 were promised credit and a discount on the eventual commercial release. I still plan on honoring that. When the release will be is up to RE and lots of variables. Probably spring 2017.
This is for the gofundme people who donated $300 or more. The RE comercial version will be a while yet and it's still too soon to take orders or fix on a retail price.
Here is the latest update on the Gofundme run. As most if not all of you know, Rock Exotica is making the Rope Runner 2 for treestuff. It turns out that they are also moving their entire facility to a new building through october. that means they wouldnt be able to even start working on parts...

I know I saw somewhere a throwbag made by stuffing short pieces of chain into webbing. Seems like that would be super simple to make with one link peeking out both ends.
No need to apologize for others. I understand treevets impatience. It is important to hear sentiments like his if only to keep my feet to the fire. I just hope that the over long time line of this project doesn't deter others thinking of taking their ideas the gofundme route
im sorry you feel that way. truly i am.
i feel like I maybe foolishly optimistic but ive never set out to dupe anyone. i started out with the full intention to handle everything myself, but then i realized that there was no way that i could produce a device of the quality i wanted. RE is slow...
I think that RE is very interested in looking into all the possible rope access applications of the Akimbo. What do you think would need to change to make it work for what you have in mind?
