Nice buy Sean. A friend of mine has four. Had to send them back for the recall and they were back within a week I think. Anyhow I’ve used them and like them
Can’t see from my phone, but knowing Devon, the rigging was set properly to either avoid the reverse wishbone effect or was set to contain it.
I constantly adjust to the weak spots in the tree for rigging purposes. Crane work is usually just backwards effects
Nice. I agree you need a bigger box at least. That chip box looks tiny on that truck even. 16 foot, high capacity, without the ladder box is my 2 cents. I don’t know how that converts to your measurement scale but that’s 30 yards capacity for us. I’m happy for you. That’s a nice machine. I’ll...
The time savings would’ve been nice but also the fact that we wouldn’t have been dead tired at the end of the job. Plus less limpact but that wasn’t really a concern
August always seems to suck. I figure all the last minute vacations trump getting anything done around the house. Keep on keeping on Steve. You’ll have great times and not so good times.
The job I did yesterday was prime for a mec. A large white oak with room to bomb, a dead as hell white oak...
I had them pretty bad three winters ago. A very rough couple of weeks. Ended up with some drugs the docs gave me but I think it pretty much runs it’s course by the time the meds kick in. I waited a few days before going so that couldn’t of helped. Had a contract with stiff penalties for non...
BMG= Branch Manager Grapple. Originally designed for mini loaders but can be bought for full size skid steers
There are no safeties with C&D chippers. Usually smaller capacity machines. Feed from the side and run away. For larger pieces you either have to cut them short or add enough weight...
My bashlins, my trusty 020T, and my ever growing knowledge. Call it spidey sense if you want, but when it tells me to walk away, I do and something usually bad happens when someone else takes it on. Or they bring in a lot of iron.
I should also add my wife. She’s backed me up on every major...
What are your rpm’s? Also on one side of the drum housing there should be a screen. Make sure it’s clear. That’s the air intake side to give extra push on the chips. Check your gap. Should be pretty tight. The old M&M is what I used when I first started doing tree work. Glad I’m past that now...
If it’s new to you I’d replace nuts and bolts. Be ready though, they cost as much as the knives. I’ll agree though that sharp knives and anvil clearance will make a big difference
