can't help you much there.. there is always wesspur, which seems to keep stuff in stock damn well compared to the others. as for the fire thing, not surprised, it's a bit of a tenderbox down that waySay, kinda off topic but I want to buy a Monkey beav saddle But can't find one? I read that New Tribe is under threat of forest fire? Itried to contact @August Hunicke about getting one but have heard nothing back yet, but to be fair it was the beginning of the weekend when I called.
Well yeah.. haha.. i would imagine the general safe practices are important running one..Safeties involve:
Situational awareness
Proper work positioning
Using a push stick
No hands in the no-hand zone
Working from behind the Big Steel Shield or out past the brush tips
No open pockets, hammer loops, draw strings, etc, that can snag, etc.
No cutting corners... That's how people get chipped, imo.
How many times have you used the last-chance safeties?
No idea of factory specs.

The last chance cables do not stop the cutter head from spinning, all they do is is stop the feed rollers.Well yeah.. haha.. i would imagine the general safe practices are important running one..
Knock on wood.. no..lol.. Ive never used the last chance cables.. & hope to never have to.. i dont even like insinuating the idea of having to..
I was just curious if there was some sort of feature built into them.. not i have ever seen one or could imagine how will it would work, but for example, was wondering if maybe it had some sort of brake on the drum.. You know what i mean..
Like i mentioned before.. ive never had the luxury of using one..lol.. I've seen em driving by.. & I've sure as shit heard them off in the distance.. just never had my hands on one... But always wondered about them..
& Now that I'm beginning to invest in tools/equipment, i know their price points will be tempting.

OK I just checked Wesspur doesn't even show the Monkey Beaver in Work harnesses now.
Throw that shit in the chipper too!Lol... They don't?? Well shit Steve.. You learn something new everyday.. haha..
Mobark got some RF detector system.. but you gotta wear it.
Theres no (I dont like that button)I don't think they are carrying it anymore..
When i bought mine a few months back it was supposedly the last of the stock.
From what i understand, August has brought it all in house.. Or the majority of it anyways.. This is what TS told me a few months ago.. & then i think i heard something mentioned about it in one of his videos.. The Launch of Monkey Beaver dot com was representative of him bringing it in house...(iirc).

Mine has a round chute...way better than square. Few and far between. Might is light enough at 4400 pounds to muscle it into backyard with my mini, helped in part because of the very light tongue-weight.
I just had to put $75 in welding into it. I'm probably up to $5000 total expenses, including purchase price, aside from fuel and my labor, in 11 years. Seems hungrier than ever.
An old employee wanted to rent my chipper from me, rather than a BC1000 from a rental company. Said that in OUR trees, the bc1000 was way slower (possibly in part to a feed wheel speed setting, being a rental).
Came with 3600 hours. Just turned 4000 hours. The meter doesn't really work.
Can be run at any engine speed, so when little stuff is going in, and I don't need to blow it far, it can run at idle. Speed it up when the mini is there, stuff it, turn it down. Groundie finished feeding while I get another pre-built 'grapple pile'.
Fits MY niche.
