I clip one end in a carabiner and then take that carabiner in the left hand, put my pointer finger on the right hand in the loop and twist it multiple times until it sucks itself together in a way. I then take the loop that is in my right hand and clip it onto the carabiner. The multiple twists...
I have to agree. There was a time when a new color was all the rage. I used to know all the rope by name circa 2012. Now it seems like the same rope has well over a dozen different names. I don't think I could name them all today. I just call them by rope construction now.
I grabbed some because I thought they could be used on Teufelberger bags and other unique places that you had a much more narrow slot or hole to work with.
I've run a couple with knots. No big deal just know you have strength loss with knots around 30% (At least was told this when I was in school back in 2009) where hand splice retains 90% strength. I believe sewing is basically 100% retention.

We haven't received these yet but when I started to download the pictures I though that gold part was goofy looking. It almost looked fake or like it was a photo mistake. There are pictures surfacing in Europe right now and they look really different from these "high res" photos. There is also a...
Welcome to the group. This is a great industry to be apart of. Soak all the information you can in. I've been in this industry since I could walk technically but really involved since 2008 when I was in Urban Forestry tech school.
I got my class a with air brakes and manual transmission endorsements a year or two ago. Youtube videos for pre trip helped me the most. The written tests have goofy written questions but if you skip the ones you don't know usually you can get enough right to pass the test. Don't be afraid to...
I use kmIII with my rope runner. Super static. After having weight in it for awhile it turns into a cable. Very little squish. I've noticed that when ropes get squished after a decent the rope can twist on ascent and wedge the wrong way causing temporary hang up. I think you were hinting at that...
