Not a substitute for medical advice, but if you want to try some low key self help in addition to or as a precursor, try this routine. It has helped me a bunch when my hands, wrists, forearms have been abused by saws and ropes...
What the title says: looking for a climber in the Lehigh Valley/Berks County area. Would prefer someone with experience, but willing to train a climber if they are motivated.
Small, family owned business. PM me further details.
In ascending the tree for removal, I would not use my main line for ascent. I would go up using spur and lanyard up. I would use my climb line as second lanyard or perhaps a short DDRT to pass crotch unions. Once I got to my TIP (tie in point) I would switch to SRT or maybe stay DDRT.
Ascending...
@Dan Cobb, my HH2 is my go to climbing devise. I think you are right in that managing and tying the cord through the dogbone is the most fiddly part of the devise.
However, I do like the simplicity of manufacture and bomb-proofness of the system. Anything that makes it easier could also make...
I find when I beat up my wrists, there are some simple stretches and exercises that help a lot. Found them when dabbling in gymnastic strength by Coach Somers.
Stretching Routine is while on knees, stretch the wrists against the floor first by placing palms on the floor and leaning shoulders...
Right. I was thinking about your suggestion of velcro lowers in your earlier thread. I couldn't picture how you would use that velcro strap as lower strap.
I think I am going to return the aluminum climbers to Bashlin. Too expensive to not be what I wanted. Also they don’t seem to be significantly lighter than a good old school steel pair which I have been climbing on.
Since I am now hesitant with Bashlin, I might order a steel pair from them, but...
@rico and @oldoakman and @Jonny, I have not run Bashlins before. If you were buying new today, would you buy the Bashlin aluminums and run them with other pads?
I am trying to decide if I should return the climbers and look for something different. Or if I should look for pads that fit the...
Others on this forum recommended the Bashlin Aluminums with Caddies. After some searching the inter webs, I think Bashlin may have changed their design. The shank seems like it used to be tapered more in thickness.
Hi Gents,
After a little research I just bought Bashlin climbers (BD14B) and was planning on running them with Opsal caddie pads. However, the length adjuster doesn’t fit into the receiver on the pads.
What am I missing? Do I have the wrong climbers? Does opsal make more than one pad type?
