Bashlin and Caddie Pads not compatible?

I found them to be noticeably lighter than the steel Bucks I had before. That doesn’t at all mean that the steel ones were ever too heavy, they’re not too heavy and they’re built to last several lifetimes. Just that I enjoy the light weight of the Bashlins and the build quality is also second to none.

I think the added aluminum of what looks like a thicker shank and stirrup probably makes this set heavier than what you have.

A set of steel Buck's with caddy pads will be as light as a pair of Bashlins with any of the compatible pads I listed..All the Bashin compatible velcro wrap pads are quite heavy, so the little extra weight of the steel Buck's is more than made up for with the ultra light caddy pads....Plus none of those wrap pads can hold a candle to the comfort and support that the caddy's offer....

Been wanting a better upper strap, so took the split rings off a pair of Gecko lower straps and reattached them with some dynaglide on the pad. We’ll see how it lasts, those aren’t very gentle edges on the little strap loop on the sleeves. I might try some 3/4” fishing split rings.

Right. I was thinking about your suggestion of velcro lowers in your earlier thread. I couldn't picture how you would use that velcro strap as lower strap.
