    OLDS-Overhead Lowering...

[ QUOTE ] ... The BS up top doesn't cause the same doubling effect on the top anchor, so you're working load is effectively larger than if you were conmparing a block up top and LD down low. ... Splicing by Tuttle

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] It's my thinking that an i2i prussic will only ever be exposed to somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500 lbs as most friction hitches slip at forces greater then this figure. [/ QUOTE ] Do you know whether any data has been published on this? [/ QUOTE ] This is quite...

    Splicing by Tuttle

How much load will an eye of a e2e hitch cord see in a worst case scenario? Lets say a drop with a maximum shock load force of 10 kN, what would really be beyond anything reasonable. Max force on one eye would be 5kN in SRT and just 2,5kN in Ddrt (which I assume that still most e2e's are used...

    Tree Motion Bridge

The Aramid cover of the Tritech will be much harder on Aluminium then a Polyester or Polyamid one, keep that in mind. I recommend using a ring on a Tritech bridge, so the abrasion is spread around the inside of it. In a carabiner f.e. you see a groove in it quite soon.

Eye splicing Yale rope - help !!!

I bury the core just a short fid length, roughly. I think its what Samson says (or maybe it is 1/3 of y fid is what they say?...). I dont think tis figure is really important on breaking strength or performance. Maybe its more cosmetically...

Negative blocking: can we find better words?

"positive" rigging would mean to me that a load is going upwards, yes. but its not anti-gravitational (at least for most of us ;) so its not the exact opposite. it would be if "negative" rigging would mean pulling a load downwards mechanically and thats not what its about here. I really think...

Negative blocking: can we find better words?

So "positive" rigging would be the opposite right? For me it makes not a lot sense.
