XRR sling ideas

Mike, you should come up to Fids and Fibers by the Fireside! X-Rings and rope has been donated for everyone to build projects. You cannot lose. Feb 26th to Mar 1 up here in the snowy NorthEast!
Almost 30 CEU's for the event, ISA CA and CTSP!

So I received my first X-Rigging Rings yesterday and today got a chance to splice up a sling idea I had in my head. I'm no splicing expert so looking for opinions as to whether it's functional, in what configuration it would be best, and improvements I could make. Try to ignore my shytty brummel, I kinda just threw this together. Going to make it out of Tenex-tec eventually......unnamed.webp unnamed-1.webp unnamed-3.webp unnamed-4.webp

I think it's a little different than the others, but it's hard to say if this hasn't been done before. It's just a single 5/8 line made into a deadeye (although could easily be made into a whoopie).

I was going to go beast rings but it came down to cost. Two large rings cost the same as one beast and when I factored the shitty Canadian dollar on top of that it made more sense to go with the large, especially considering I wasn't entirely sure the splice would work. Once I get back to work and the funds start flowing again I'm going to order some beast rings and do this up right.

That sling is friggin awesome! I can't figure out how you made it though, care to share?
I shoulda made a video as its hard for me to explain lol. I got the inspiration from this splice Oceans did in the other thread....

and this is his diagram of the splice he did....

except instead of of doing the final bury after step 3 I did the same steps around a second ring. You can kind of get the idea from this one I did yesterday just by twisting the rings....

I'm in the same boat as you as far as funding goes. When the busy season kicks back in I'll be ordering two beast rings and making one of these Boomslings for myself lol. Very nice job
