I am indeed. The beatle kill trees will be keeping me busy for a while. We did these cotton woods to train guys in real tree removals, most up here only have experience doing pines.

Well least you have the skid steer!
I'll agree with that. It did a great job of toting my gear clear through that ROW. Had a few to strip out over that ridge because of a property corner and some really high power lines that we couldn't have hit even if we tried. I don't even wanna know what kinda juice they had in them. the gas company seemed to be pretty concerned that we not drop anything on the power ROW.

It sounds like we are in for another warm day and then a couple weeks of almost cold weather. I can't wait to be done with the muddy yards. Can't get on anyone's yard without mats. Or risk destroying it.

It is things like that, that make me happy to be out in the woods again. I hate it when a client/ supervisor, insists on completing a job in a swamped out yard. It is always your fault that there is turf damage, don't bother noticing your 100 ft tree is gone and your gutters and fence are pristine. Out here it seams, we see how big of a hole the logs can make when we deck them.

Just standing in front of the chipper, feeding it, my boots were so deep in mud that I just wiggled out of them and left them in the back of the truck. It's going to take a power washer to get them clean. Ugly mess, and now it's snowed some more, and warming back up... going to be a swamp, again. Hard to get anything done.

Yeah, a few Whooping Cranes and alligators... toss a few Snail Darters in the bigger puddles... hang a sign on the fence, "Downriver Duck Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary" and "Please don't disturb the wildlife or put your dirty dickbeaters on the heavy equipment!" and you're eligible...

Split at the base. Split in the canopy on the trunk after a nasty dogleg. All the Weight on the split. Tons of cavities and a maze of raccoon tunnels 2 raccoons in the trunk got to ride the ball today. Sometimes a challenge is good. Sometimes it gives you the pucker factor. Very happy for the crane today.
