Was a nice day, today... until about 9 AM when it got ugly ass hot and humid. Hung in there until noon, then the homeowner decided we'd be better off drinking beer in his nice, cool basement. Going to have to get up at 4 AM tomorrow so I can get the climbing part done before it gets hot. Several ugly elms to go, yet.

Screamin' Seaman has a nice ring to it :risas2:
That is a nice looking boat Deevo

Homeowner shot this video. Tree was 85 feet away. I was good for 1300. I boomed back a little to get a bit more capacity. Thats why it came off a little funky. Also, a big white pine to my left that I had to boom around. Job went well. In and out in a day, took down 8 pine trees, left the wood for him to mill.
The climber is my new guy Adam. This is his second crane job. He is doing a very good job. I ordered him a new protos helmet with sena's so we can talk. But, his helmet has been backordered for two weeks now. Once we can talk it will be much easier to train him on sling placement and cutting. But so far he's doing GREAT!

@deevo Are you going to be able to put the mini or the chipper on there individually? Definitely doesn't look big enough for both, but sometimes pics can be deceiving. Or are you still going to be barging them in?

This is his second crane job.

Looks to me like he's doing very well. Reacted quickly when it didn't come off smoothly, got his noggin out of the way. I've never done crane work, but it seems to me that situational awareness is pretty damn important, and he seems to have it.

Thanks Jeff,
Hes a really good hand climber. He came to me with no experience with a crane, but he is really skilled at removing trees with climbing or in the bucket. I told him if he can remove a tree on spurs, he can climb off a crane and it's a lot easier. Once we get his head-set and we can talk it will be so much better. There are a lot of tips I can give him from watching him climb. I'm excited to have him on board. Now, I need more crane work:)
