What would you do?

Nope people here own veiw, beach and tide lands... Its pretty hard to swallow that you can only walk on the 100-200' public beach with out getting a trespass threat.

Try Mass. and Maine, no public beach right-o-way. The only time you can walk a beach there is at low tide, and even then you better be below the water mark.

You can have virtually anything put on a land title in the form of a restrictive covenant. Set backs, built form, facades, location of garage,etc....

Read your deed closely!

I declined the job. I did not feel right about it, the guy is a total sleezball, and I decided I did not want to be associated with his crap. However, I am still dumping chips on his land!
 
Some times its hard to walk away from work and money. Most the time in a situation like this it may cost more in the long run than you would have made in the short term.
