What??!?!! Petzl Zig Zag???

That's been on their page a while. I've only seen 1 other post about it. I think it's supposed to show up Novemberish?

edit: I guess November will be when we maybe start to see a little press on it..

Fer sure, don't mean to overlook it. It's so established it's practically old-school compared to the latest developments.

I saw a couple guys fiddling with something at ITCC. It looked like a large motorcycle chain with a rope threaded through it. Was that the Zig Zag? It did occur to me that it looked like something Surveyor made. Except it was shiny and refined. I must've been staring, cause when I walked by they looked at me funny and kinda moved so I couldn't see it any longer.

Bob S. saw the Petzl device at the Portland event. I am very curious to see what they have come up with. I will say the hitchless pulley rack of my design does indeed work SRT.

Edit: I believe this is the patent for the device with attached drawings. Looks like it has two integral headstocks which would need to be disengaged either progressively or together. It seems likely that it will work either SRT or DRT.

It is clear from the patent date that the Petzl device predates any public disclosure I have with the pulley rack, of which I am glad to see.

Very slick find surveyor.

I'll be interested to see the finished product. There's a few variations in the patent application. Some look a bit more busy than others...

Three of the figures show it in srt configuration (fig 1,2,3) with some variation of fig 3. Hopefully it will be at tcia convention.
