What is this lil bugger?

You got it!

Sceloporus occidentalis
Western fence lizard (aka: Bluebellies)

It's the coastal range subspecies - their underside has blue and yellow streaks.

Well done! You're up.

Yup, one of my favorite!

The black and yellow garden spider (Argiope aurantia).

There's another one that is green with golden flecks on its back - very pretty!

but now I've got to sign off.
Maybe Xman will put something up.

Hope he sees my question a few pages back about how long does a rhino beetle live?

dang you guys are moving faster than i thought and i'm not getting to answer.

We have Eastern Fence Lizards here that look identical. I caught one of those Western ones when in California and brought it back with me i think. Hmmm, no, I caught one but let it go. i brought back two tiny yellow scorpians in my camera lens caps; since i was flying.

i brought back a boheimian curly tailed lizard in an orange juice bottle in my front shirt pocket on a plane once. it's okay, they were already in florida.

3 to 6 months.

NO.

Well maybe in the wild.

If you feed them apple slices to lick on, the adults can live 1 to sometimes 2 years I've heard.

if i remember correctly.

It's at least a full year anyway.

I'm going to stick with the easy stuff for now still. I'm tempted to jump ahead, but I'll control myself.

How about this pretty little bugger I caught the other weekend and brought home.

we don't have many "lizard like" creatures in my county, more slightly south. this one was at the baltimore/harford county border in MD.

sorry it's a little blury, cell phone focused on the wrong stuff. but you can tell what it is if you know it.
